I'd have to say yes. Lakers do it for the salary dump, pick, and bench. NOH does it for the simple upgrade and DEN does it for a big starting upgrade.

I vote no.

This is putrid for denver.

Does Gasol still have this much value?

Hornets reluctantly say yes. Demps loved McGee. McGee + Davis + Aminu = defense all day. Now if only Davis can learn how to shoot 3s......

Doesn't explain why you feel that way.

But a yes from me. Think its a perfect fit for all teams involved.

Thanx. And yeah i agree, if ur gonna bash the deal at the very least explain why with some rational behind ur reasoning, so that we can make better deals in the future if the criticism is indeed accurate.

^^ Not sure if that is a KOTB no, or not Aki. Similarly nikkoewan, please vote yes if you think all teams and not just Hornets would do it, or no if a team of the three wouldn't.

Right now I have this 2 yes, 2 no, counting neither of the above posters.

Thanks!

No, I really don't see Denver sacrificing that much for Pau.
Also, seems a little too good for the Hornets.
Lakers probably would this, even though they shouldn't.

i like it but (like others) have reservations about the Denver part...Gasol is way better than anything Denver gives up, individually, but they give too much totally, take out the pick and mozgov....could we get some Denverites to chime in

No, That is way to much of the future to give up for a team that is not going to be a contender over the next 2 years. gasol is just not that good anymore and with the Nuggets having the 3rd youngest team in the league I would think it would be obvious they are not looking for 32 year old declining big man.

I'd say no to the trade overall. Gasol doesn't have this much value in my eyes. Sorry..

Yes, gives the lakers shooting and depth. NOH gets their front court set and Denver fields a strong starting 5. Gasol has had his role reduced on the lakers, but doesn't mean he's declined.

Yes. Denver gets much better this year. If it still doesn't make them an elite team, they can either trade Pau next year as he's expiring or let him go. Either way they'll have a ton of flexibility by getting out of the Chandler and McGee deals. NO gets their frontcourt of the future. Young and defensive minded. Lakers get better players for D'Antoni's style. They'd probably exhaust all possibilities for getting a star in return for Pau but if they can't then they make this deal.

The only reason I could imagine Denver turning this down in real life is luxury tax issues. I havent looked at the numbers to see if its an issue. This is a major upgrade for them and it costs them McGee and 3 very expendable pieces in Chandler, Mosgov and a late 1. I see no reason why Denver wouldnt see themselves as a real contender to come out of the West with this deal. I keep hearing Denver folks talk about the future which they would still have a bright one with all their young talent but they could also win now. Like Dallas did in the early 00s and OKC is doing now.

Denver definitely says yes and quickly.

I think LAL has to say yes because their current mix isnt working and getting 3 rotation guys for one starter is worth it becuase they still have plenty of top-end talent. The pick is essentially meaningless to the Lakers and you could even drop it out to make Denver folks happier.

Hornets are the question mark here. Do they really think McGee/Davis is better than Lopez/Davis/Anderson? I dont think they would. If Lopez wasnt proving to be really effective next to Davis then I could see this more likely. Still I think its close enough that they might do this.

So Im going to vote KOTB yes and I think its a well-thought out deal.

No

Another Ghost trade where the Lakers get everything they need and then some and only thing they give up is Gasol

Look I hate a lot of those Lakers deals too but 2 points:

1. this particular deal is either well-thought out (imo, this) or he got really lucky with this one

2. Gasol is a pretty big piece to give up. This isnt those Blake,Duhon, etc for 2 useful rotation pieces that other Laker fans do.

How can Denver fans complain? I think this deal is perfect for them actually. A line-up of Lawson, Iggy, Gallo, Faried, and Gasol is top 3 in the west.

Yeah I don't understand the complaints about this being a bad deal for Denver. They probably come out on top here.
