Posted: Thu Dec 6, 2012 9:42 pm
Charlotte trades Gerald Henderson, 2014 2nd round pick, and 2016 2nd round pick in exchange for Evan Fournier, Quincy Miller, and Golden State's 2013 first round pick from Utah (top 6 prot. until 2014)
Utah trades Al Jefferson, Raja Bell, Golden State's 1st round pick in exchange for Andre Iguodala, Kosta Koufos, and Charlotte's 2016 2nd round pick
Denver trades Andre Iguodala, Quincy Miller, Evan Fournier, and Kosta Koufos in exchange for Al Jefferson, Gerald Henderson, Raja Bell, and Charlotte's 2014 2nd round pick
--
Charlotte has cooled down since the hot start of the season, and is still looking to build up the roster, not move in for a playoff spot. Charlotte gets a couple of nice young prospects rotting on the end of Denver's bench and a 1st round pick that could be a pretty good pick as early as 2013. Rebuilding is all about assets and that's what Charlotte gets here.
Utah frees up minutes for the young guys: Favors and Kanter, by trading Jefferson for an all-star caliber wing. Koufos is an excellent 4th big. Favors/Millsap/Iguodala/Hayward/Williams is a playoff-caliber, well-rounded starting five.
Denver brings in an all-star caliber big and frees up wing minutes, giving Henderson 20-24 minutes a night and utilizing the team's ridiculous depth. Denver starts Jefferson/Faried/Gallo/Hendo/Lawson with Javale/Chandler/Brewer/Miller off the bench, by far the best balanced 9-man rotation in the league.
