Sixers Kings Turner/Young for Cousins

Full trade would be Turner, Young, and #11 for Salmons (bad contract) and Cousins. I think the change of scenery for both Turner and Cousins would be beneficial.

Kings turn it down quick. Two role players and a pick that MIGHT be a role player? Yeah, no thanks.

Not a chance the Kings pull the trigger on this. They'd demand at least one premier asset in return for Cousins

I think it's more than the Kings would get if they actually did trade Cousins, but that doesn't make it a good deal for them.

Really? I think they could easily get a top-5 pick + some other assets for him if they offered him up before the draft.

I bet Washington or Charlotte would have no qualms about dealing their pick for Cousins if it were offered.

I think that package is more valuable than those picks in this particular draft.

3rd or 4th pick
vs
11th pick + Thad Young and Evan Turner (and taking on Salmons dead weight to offset contracts)

Is it? With Young and Turner you're getting 2 6th/7th men caliber players and the 11th pick is unlikely to yield a starter. At least with a top 5 pick (even in this draft) you have a good chance at a starter. I'd take 1 legitimate starter over 3 bench players.

For the record, this trade also completely ignores the point of a Cousins trade. If the Kings trade Cousins it would be because they wouldn't want to pay him a max contract. However, this trade has the Kings paying Young/Turner the equivalent of a max--despite them being worth nowhere near that. So if the Kings are going to pay one of the 2 a max (Cousins or Evans+Turner) the former's going to win 10 times out of 10.

Salmons is an expiring contract (he has a $1m buyout after this year), so the Kings don't really gain from trading him, short of not having to pay his contract this year.

The Kings save a whooping $1 million by trading Salmons; on top of that, they give up their center for $0.30 on the dollar and without getting replacement center in return. Plus, they have no idea how much Evan Turner wants to get paid.

Furthermore, the Kings, who desperately needs a PG, somehow doesn't demand Jrue Holiday in return for Cousins. Sure.

You have delusions grandeur then. That's simply not correct thinking.

I disagree. Thad and Turner are decent starters or good bench players, nothing more. The gap between the 3rd or 4th and the 11th pick is pretty wide in this draft.

IF WAS or CHA doesn't want to deal their picks, Suns will gladly offer #5/Gortat for Cousins/Thornton.

This is a daydream for the Sixers. I can't imagine this is the best deal SAC would get.

It may be bad value for the Kings, but I don't want Cousins in Philly.

Thad is a starter. Turner probably too.

Turner should be playing the point. Bottom line here Cousins is way more valuable to SAC than he is to everyone else until he proves himself not to be the next coming of Derrick Coleman. In the meantime (not that I'm holding my breath for any changes) keep dude away from my team please.
