Image I’m sure it has something to do with Bargnani. Too painful to find them all but,
I know it’s some kind of Toronto Crow I will be chowing down on. :(
Man up & put yourself on blast.

I said Granger wouldn't be traded.

ESPN Insider Chad Ford predicts an "epic trade deadline" because of this NBA season's strange set of circumstances where many teams are tanking, and thus are willing to part with talented players.

Don't really have anything I was way off with, I figured it would be slow.

That being said, I didn't think Philly would completely fire sale it, I thought it would at least be deals involving getting players back instead of second round picks. Man that team's gonna be awful for 30 more games (and yes I knew they were previously, but they've lost 9 straight, and 4 by 17 plus points!).
Edit 1: Philly's point differential in the last 10 games (including the win vs. Boston) is around -19.

Edit 2: Was just posting on the deadline previously, so a few others:
Never thought PHX would be this good.

Never EVER thought Toronto could trade Bargnani and Gay, let alone then be sitting at the 3 seed.

Didn't think Brooklyn would be championship material but thought they'd be a solid team in the East (though they still may).

Knew the Lakers would be bad, not this bad.

Really didn't think the Knicks would be this terrible. Remember the general board thread about ESPN predicting them to win 37 games that everyone laughed at? Not even on pace for that, and now BBR's forecast has them winning 34!

As a final note, would have thought Chicago would have fallen off after Rose got hurt, but I gotta give credit to them, still playing solid.

These are always fun, although I would remind posters that this is about mistakes *you* made, not calling other people out. You have sig files for that

I was pretty adamant that Memphis wouldn't make any trade that took on salary this year: they swapped Bayless for Courtney Lee.

No way would I have predicted even this level of success for Toronto.

I thought Andrew Bynum was going to be reinvigorated in Cleveland :(

I'm sure I screwed up other things too but these stand out in my memory. Will edit if I think of more.

I don't think I said anything here, but I really thought the Lakers would dump a few more guys to get under the tax. No clue why they tried to get sneaky and get picks while saving millions.

So, I've gotta ask....are you going to stick with that user name?

That's why I didn't use a player in my user name.

Anyone who said the Suns would and should trade assets for rentals of the likes of Hawes, Turner or Pau Gasol should man up and eat all the crow in the world.

I'll eat crow and say that I thought Thad Young would be dealt, but he wasn't.
I'll also have to admit that I thought Hawes was headed to the Clippers, Thunder or Spurs. Didn't realize Cleveland still had a false hope of improving.

I don't know. Probably not. I'm lazy and don't want to think of a new one and everyone knew he was gone at the end of the year anyways. He's still one of my favorite Pacers of all time.

That's why I didn't use a player in my user name.

It's why I used three players that I was confident would never get traded.

Which apparently didn't work for pacers33granger.

I had it all wrong in regard to PHI with Young and Hawes

--I thought that some team would go for Young if the price would just be a low-ish 1st and an expiring/modest-asset (which seems like something PHI would accept, judging from what they accepted for Turner and Hawes).

--Meanwhile, I presumed that if PHI couldn't get at least a similar deal for Hawes there would be little reason to trade him since he has played well for them, is still pretty young, and can be viewed as a solid complement to Noel. Guess not.

Also, I thought PHO would do something useful with Okafor. However, I'm thinking now that if they *didn't* make even a modest offer like Okafor/protected-#1 for T. Young, then it could mean that they're waiting to make a big deal in the summer like a huge draft-day trade for Love or a near-max offer to G. Hayward. But, I suppose, the verdict on that willl have to wait for Eating Crow-6.
[edit: to I_Socrates: I never thought PHO would or should rent Hawes or Turner and thought P. Gasol would be worthwhile for no more than Okafor/IND pick. I still think T. Young would have been good for them though]

I'll eat a bit...

I really thought Philly would get a better return on Hawes/Turner, I thought philly would take back a little bad money to increase what they got.

I really thought Phx should have done something

Come on now... all you guys saying we're dumping Perk and/or trading for Hawes. You know who you are. Fess up.

I made a thread in GD last year that nBA mgt just doesn't think like MLB mgt (ie: decide if you are a buyer or seller at deadline). And yeah it turned into a flamewar as so many people got defensive as they felt i insulted the NBA and every1 just argued last year's trade deadline was just an anamoly and NBA mgt does think like that. Well time to eat crow folks

Did people say that you *would*? Which was wrong? Or that you *should*? Which remains to be seen?

This is why I love RealGM...we're all so smart that only seven of us were wrong about anything this year

To be fair, the argument was they should trade assets for rental to make a playoff push. Till the Suns make it to the playoffs or the second round, really isn't much crow to be eaten at the moment.

I feel like the lack of trade deadline deals limit the crow thread. Personally, I was shocked of the value that turner had.
