This is it-I promise-Bulls win 2015 title

This is an epic deal, but I love it

The first part is at the draft-Dunleavy and the #48 to OKC for the #29-Bulls pick that Capela dude or some other Euro big

Bulls picks
Payne #16
A PG at #19-a few seem to fall there

Part 2
Boozer, rights to Mirotic, rights to #19, Bulls 2015 #1 (non-lottery swap rights with Clev) and unguaranteed deals (worth $4 million) to NY

ORL gets Snell, rights to Capela (#29) and Sac pick for Afflalo, plus cap space

Bulls get Melo, Afflalo, Felton

WHY
OKC-they need shooting off the bench, and can fit Dunleavy into their TPE. He gives them a nice back up wing on a good deal.
I think they should move Perkins/Lamb/PJIII and the rights to the #21 for Chandler too-but that is another thread

ORL
With Exum and Olidapo, they have a great, young backcourt. Snell might be a perfect 3rd guard with them-good stroke, ok handle, solid attitude, good defensive potential. Capela can sit in Europe a year and be a backup, and they get a future pick-plus they save $. One more down year, then they go for it in 2015

NY
Getting Mirotic is key. He is a great stretch 4 prospect, and should help draw FA's in 2015. I could honestly see Rondo/LBJ/MGasol joining them if they can move SMith and open space. They need shooting and Mirotic can shoot
Now, before anyone says the Knicks won't pay lux tax for Boozer, if they move Chandler (and hopefully Smith), they should be under the tax. They could easily buy out Boozer and save $4 million if it is close. They tank 2015 and add young talent-plus a top 5 2015 pick.
They build around Shump/THjr/#19/Mirotic/their 2015 pick/Chi 2015 pick/tons of cap space

Chi
Bulls become the best team in the league-by far
Rose/Felton/Kirk
Afflalo/Butler/Kirk
Melo/Butler/Afflalo
Taj/Melo/Payne
Noah/Taj/Smith

that team would be devastating-elite on D and O-with Thibs they could win close to 70

Not the best team in the league by far. Rose can't be counted on and you know that. Not sure how Melo fits into the defense first mentality either.

But beyond that these deals arent any good for the non-Bulls teams really at all.

Not really the best team in the league, let alone "by far".

pipfan, you need to think about these trades from the OTHER teams' perspectives. If you're NY and knew melo was leaving, would you really move melo to pay boozer and get what will likely be useless picks? no, you'd rather let melo walk and save yourself millions of salary and begin tanking. Those picks don't compensate NY for anything and why should NY help CHI at all? CHI couldn't sign melo outright in FA.

If you're Orlando, Afflalo has pretty good value, WAY more than just capspace and Snell and whoever. Your trades are pretty brutal for non-chicago teams, please make them more effort. These lopsided trades are becoming a huge bore to read.

I agree with all of the above.

Putting Rose into a starting lineup. Seems legit.

Mirotic to attract 2015 free agents.

Sounds legit.

I'd do the Dunleavy for 29 part for OKC. I actually like that a lot.

But the rest of the teams, not so much.

Send #19, Boozer and rights to Mirotic To the Sixers for The 32nd pick.

Send #16, Dunleavy and Snell to Orlando for Afflalo.

Select Patric Young with the 32nd pick to back up Noah

Beg Carmelo to opt out and then you might have a chance

Rose/Afflalo/Melo/Gibson/Noah with Butler/Young and some more minimum salary type players

Read the title, wondered if Rose can even walk yet.

Easy no from Orlando.

I think if they move Dunleavy it will be during free agency rather than draft.

I dont understand why Bulls should trade Boozer when it will likely cost them a 1st round pick. Just amnesty him and keep the picks.

A few thoughts:

A) Amnesty Boozer

B) Dunleavy and #19 to Philly for #32 & #39

C) #16 to OKC for #21 and #29

This gives Bulls ability to spread out depth for lower amount of cap space.

Really Dude? He is turning 29 soon and this is a deep draft you could get a younger version of him with the 16th pick in Gary harris or even Package the 16th and 12th picks to move up and get either Vonleh/Randle/Gordon/McDermott to Pair up with Exum/Oladipo/Harkless/Vucevic

His game doesnt rely on athleticism, so he can play for longer than what would be expected. At 29, he can still play. Manu is 36, he is still playing fine.

I doubt you are going to find Magic fans that want Snell and want #16. The hope and thoughts are that #12+AA+something else minor can move up to grab one of the 3 PF's in the draft.

So, NY, if they can get out of the tax-and I think it is very possible, would rather let Melo walk for free than get 2 picks and Mirotic (who would go 5-8 in this draft-and is a stretch 4-very valuable commodity). I mentioned they could buy out Boozer as well, and just add the assets. Plus they get to dump Felton to jump start 2015? I might be wrong, but if I were a Knicks fan I would rather have something than nothing? Are the Knicks short on $?

And 3 assets (granted, non great) and cap space for Afflalo is not even close? I guess I don't understand what his value would be then? He is a very good player, but not young (end of prime) and on his last year. Maybe they can use AA and the #12 and move up-seems reasonable-but this deal is after the draft-what if he is still there?

Finally, the Bulls have no choice but to assume Rose comes back to All Star form. He is young and a work out fool. Obviously, if he gets hurt again all bets are off. But our team this year, starting Dunleavy and Boozer, was great on D. Imagine Rose (better than Kirk), Afflalo, Melo (way better than Dunleavy), Taj-a million times better than Boozer-our D would be epic.

Where else will Melo go to win now? If he stays-good luck but NY won't win a title unless LBJ comes in 2015
What will NY get for him?

Maybe some of you are not familiar with Mirotic-fine. But he is the top prospect in the world's second best league. He might bust, so might Vonleh, Randle or Exum. He has strong value.

That team will look like a 55-win team for the first two months, then will be a 45ish team at the end of the season when Felton has to take over as starting PG.

Either way, they don't get past Miami.

So, we upgrade with Rose over Kirk
Melo over Dunleavy
Afflalo over Butler
Butler over Snell
No more Boozer

We won 48 this year-and now we will win 45?
