Cavs, Wolves, & Jazz Manaj

This three way is being discussed in different areas so I thought I'd compile it and see everyone's thoughts. I think it's great for all parties involved.

Jazz out: #5 & Derrick Favors

Jazz In: #1, Jarrett Jack, Anderson Varejao

Cavs out: #1, Jarrett Jack, Anderson Varejao, Mem 2015 1st, & 2015 Cle/Chi 2015 1st

Cavs in: Kevin Love & Derrick Favors

Minnesota out: Kevin Love

Minnesota in: #5, Mem 2015 1st, & Cle/Chi 2015 1st

Why for the Jazz? They get their guy in Wiggins and continue the rebuild.

Why for the Cavs? They go for it. With a core of Kyrie, Love, and Favors they will easily entice either LeBron or Melo to sign there making them an ECF team minimum.

Why for Minny? They go into rebuild and get a top 5 pick in a great draft.

Edit @ 7:50 P.M. 06/20/2014. Updated with some of the suggestions to add the salary going out of Cavs to Jazz and picks added to Minnesota. Let me know thoughts on update.

I like it but Minny is going to want more than No. 5. Depending on the "more" it is possible.

Minny's gonna need a bit of sweetener for sure. Cleveland's gotta give some decent value to them, don't know what's preferred though.

Highway robbery for Cleveland. Absolutely no way they can get both of these players for the number 1. Reroute Favors to Minn and that sounds a lot closer.

Cleveland out : #1, Varejo, T. Thompson
Cleveland in : Love, Minor asset from utah

Minn Out : Love
Minn in : Favors, Varejao & #5

Utah out : Favors & #5 (Minor asset, Late pick or B prospect)
Utah In : #1 and Tristan Thompson.

The value here makes much more sense.

Send Anthony Bennett and Tristan Thompson to Utah w/ #1

#5, Sergey Karasev, Tyler Zeller, Anderson Varejao Jarrett Jack & 2015 CLE/CHI pick to MIN, 2015 MEM pick, 2015 MIA pick (4 1st rounders in 2 years)

Clears deck in Cleveland to add A high level wing.

Love: $15.7
Favors: $12.0
Irving: $7.5
Waiters: $4.1

Remove Karasev and Zeller, swap Jack and Bennett and I agree with this.

Irving/Delly
Waiters/Karasev
FA
Love
Favors/Zeller

Still, clearly only worth it if you can land lebron or Melo in free agency.

I think this works (with Favors PP).

Jazz Out: #5, Favors, Lucas
Jazz In: #1, Thompson, Jack

MIN Out: Love
MIN In: #5, Varejao, Bennett, Felix, CLE 2015 first (CHI have option to swap), 2015 MEM first, 2015 MIA first.

CLE In: Love, Favors, Lucas.
CLE Out: #1, Thompson, Jack, Varejao, Bennett, Felix, CLE 2015 first (CHI have option to swap), 2015 MEM first, 2015 MIA first.

Jazz:
Kanter/Gobert
Thompson/Lucas
Parker
Hayward/Burk
Burke/Jack

+#23, #35.

MIN:
Build around Rubio, Bazz, Bennett, Dieng, #5, #13, Min's future picks, 3 additional 2015 firsts, plus whatever picks/young talent that Pekovic, Varejao, Martin can be flipped for.

CLE:
Favors/Zeller
Love/?
?/?
Waiters/Karasev
Kyrie/?

Upgrade the front court big time with just under $18 million to offer a SF (wonder who), plus room exception.

If Cavs get Favors, Minnesota gets more from them. Or else send Favors to the Cavs.

There is no way we'd do this deal for #5, and a couple junky late firsts...that's just absurd.

Also, the Wolves already have twelve guys under contract, once you add in a couple draft picks, these crappy multi-player deals are impossible. We can't have more than 15 players under contract... you'd have to absorb JJ Barea, Shved, maybe trade Waiters for Martin as well. Otherwise this is just silly.

The picks are in next years draft, so doesn't effect your roster. Plus those picks aren't that bad. CLE's would be assuming they become good. But the Mem pick is top 5 protected (with Zbo having an opt out), and the MIA pick is top 10 protected (If LeBron leaves..) so they could be valuable.

Plus what asset that has been proposed for Love on a 1 year deal is superior to #5?

There's a lot of what ifs in that statement. And I'm sick of people saying "what's better than this asset" it doesn't matter. Offers are about being the best, not just as good. All around, this offer isn't great. The Cavs get way too much.

I think Cavs would have to add more to Minny. Unfortunately I think we would have to part with Waiters or flip him to LAL for #7 and give that to Minny.

Cleveland would need to add Waiters and Bennett to Minnesota. That opens enough cap-space to bring in LeBron and it also makes the deal better for Minnesota.

It's the highest draft pick the Wolves can hope to get this year. Three numbers ones in next year's draft is just gravy. It is a one year rental of Love. Cavs can send Verejao's partially-guaranteed one year deal for salary relief but that's it.

Cavs have other options. We can make the same offer for Horford who under contract for two seasons. We can just select the PBA at No. 5 and have three first round picks next year. Vonleh is probably still on the board at 5 or Embiid.

From several other similar proposals it seems like Wolves fans are expecting a better return for their player than any team got in recent memory. It's weird cus they get a top 5 pick in the best draft in years and more future firsts.

Maybe it's best to cut them out. It's confusing because the Hornets got less for CP3 (injury prone Undersized SG, average center, bust SF, and a pick that became Austin rivers).

Cleveland would hang up the phone. We'd add Thompson but not Bennett or Dion.

So we magically don't add players to our roster picking at 5 and 13 in this draft? we also have 3 second round picks... and neither the Memphis or Miami picks would be in the lottery, that's just silly, the protections are irrelevant. There is one good draft pick and nothing else in this deal, it's a homer fantasy.

There is no way Love ends up with Cleveland unless Cleveland sends the #1 pick to Minnesota. Boston can offer more, and better picks including #6, and Sully, which is a much better deal than this one. Those Brooklyn picks may be decent considering how poorly run that franchise is.

Sounds like there is no way Love ends up in Cleveland. The protections on the Memphis pick are 1-5 and 16-30. It's not conveyed if it's out of the lottery. Miami is protected 1-10 and if LBJ leaves, that team could easily fall out of the playoffs. If you think that No. 6 and Sully is a better deal that No. 5, three first round picks in next year's draft, and TT, then you think that's better. I think that's dubious.
