We dont have a back up pg(Mills out till Feb) with this trade and the Spurs don't trade for trades sake... which this is.

Can I kindly ask you to please keep up with the weekly updates in your signature?
I think it's important for everyone to know how knowledgeable the posters on the GB are and that can only happen if a not-so-logical poster as yourself updates their signature weekly to let us know about the recent happenings on the GB.

Thanks in advance! ;)

On topic, makes very little sense for the Sixers and Spurs. I'm sure the Raps would love it though..

Spurs won't do this. They need Corey for the time being as Patty thrills is out for the time being.

Raptors love this because they save themselves some money.

76ers boldly pass as they brought in LRMAM to be a mentor to Embiid since both are from Cameroon and he can help Embiid's transition to the NBA a lot better.

Pretty much what Rasho said

SA can't afford losing Joseph now with Mills out until FEB.

What if it was just Hayes, Fields, and Ross for McDaniels and JRich? Saves 8m and gets TOR a defensive stopper at the 3 spot.

Only reason we do this is to save a roster spot.

Would not do

Yeah you know. Just throw our starting SF in the deal like that. For a 2nd round pick and a deadweight expiring.
You should get in touch with Masai and see how he feels about that.

Yes, because Hayes and Fields are SUCH productive players LMAO

If you want a win now improvement, I get that and in that case there's no version of the OP that will help TOR. If you want to dump useless players however, then this is your trade.

Ross is their starting SF... Fields and Hayes are their 11-12 men (ish) and the Raptors are not over the tax. So why would they possibly give up a real asset of any sort for cap savings? And if they did consider giving up an asset, why would it be one of their 5 starters?

Any reasoning?

But - on the OP - Raptors should do it every time. Trim a few million and a roster spot while getting back potentially equal/better talent.. Who knows what Richardson actually looks like on the court. He isn't that old and has taken over a year off for the injury.. He might be the same "eh" he was before his injury - after his prime.. Which is a huge improvement over Fields... But even that is just upgrading the Raptors 4th wing (Demar/Ross/Lou).. But the roster spot might give way for a better back up center some how.. I don't know.

Good deal all around in my opinion gives The Spurs a gritty PF they need and gives the 76ers a decent PG prospect in Joseph who might be a decent pickup for them.

Toronto could add a sweater like say a 2nd but if we do this deal I expect Hamilton to be cut. Our roster would be pretty deep after

PG: Lowry/Vasquez/Cherry
SG: DeRozan/Williams/J-Rich
SF: Ross/J Johnson/J-Rich
PF: Amir/Patterson/Johnson
C: Jonas V/Steimsma/Bebe

Not to bad and gives us a boat load of expiring deals we could package with a pick this year or next for a upgrade at the 4

I believe a Rubio>Curry comment was made in this forum as well.

The OP is bad for Philly and they wouldn't do it is what I was saying, so I was trying to figure another way to let TOR dump their bad contracts, which is obviously the goal of the OP here. The Raptors would move Ross because... I assume they aren't trading the Knicks pick they own or Valanciunas so they have no other way to dump that 12m. Again, I get the fact they want to win now and don't know exactly what dumping those salaries would do for them, just going off the OP deal.

Which of the players the Raptors are receiving is the defensive stopper?
