Title says it all, what moves have you got to take the Clippers up another notch?

For the sake of this exercise;
- Blake and CP3 are untouchable
- Deandre Jordan is unlikely to be moved
- Redick can be had for the right deal
- Everyone else is fair game.

Keep in mind:
- Clippers don't have current or future 1st rounders to trade
- Clippers are hard capped, and can only take on an extra $800k in total salary

I think you have to trade Jordan to get value back. I assume you are looking for perimeter defense and a replacement for him.

Lance and Bismack for Jordan and Cunningham.

Jeff Green and A. Bradley for Jordon, Hedo, Barnes and Cunningham.

Interesting topic. Like jbk said, DJ would likely have to be included. Barnes, Crawford for Biz and Lance might be close. Biz can control the paint defensively pretty well but he can't catch a pass to save his life. Lance is a head case who I'd want no part of but I have to think cp3 doc and Blake could get the best out of him. Then maybe try to trade a young guy like Bullock and some cash to Boston for Jeff Green (idk if nba allows you to send cash like MLB does, or if the league would allow LAC to trade w boston after the doc/kg/dj stuff last year.

I'd say DJ, Crawford to ATL for Horford and Carroll maybe but the Hawks wouldn't do that imo since they're off to such a hot start.

Not sure why but I feel a guy like Gerald Henderson would be a great fit on the Clippers.

I think he's a good defender (considering the interior help def of CHA) and I think he'd be a perfect "run and fill the lanes" guy and another target for CP3 on the break, just not sure how to make the #'s and right players work to get a deal done.

That said I thought they missed out on an opportunity and not getting Corey Brewer.

Clips ain't contending nothing with low IQ chucker and defenseless Jamal. Get rid of this dude. Need a better multidimensional glue 3. Don't get too attached to Jordan he has very little skills.

Still think Jamal for Tony Allen would be good for Clippers. But Memphis might not bite since they have Courtney Lee

Chris Bosh and Luol Deng for Blake Griffin, Matt Barnes and Carlos Delfino.

Why for LAC? Minor downgrade at PF (-3ppg and some ball handling/passing, +defensively), massive upgrade at SF. Bosh looks good in his new role and Deng is a very solid defender who is having a decent season.

NOTE: I am not Blake's biggest fan, but I'm suggesting this on the value I perceive he has on RealGM. That said, I probably still get laughed at.

For Miami, we get at least one player who can be a long-term asset for the team, and clear a little bit of 2015 salary.

I think Jordan has to go if they want to be a real contender. He's the only guy they can move outside of Paul and Griffin that could get some good assets back. I think he is overrated as a defensive center. He's certainly not in the same tier as guys like Hibbert, Bogut, Howard and Gasol. He's a good to very good defender but he's not an elite one. Now he is an elite rebounder, probably the best in the league. But it's worth noting that the Clippers are 3rd last in the league in rebounding despite having the leader in RPG on their team.

Trade 1

Clippers trade : DeAndre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, Matt Barnes, Jared Cunningham

Clippers receive : Aaron Afflalo, PJ Tucker, Timofey Mozgov, Gerald Green

I expect a hostile response for this, mainly because I consider the players the Clippers receive as underrated. The downgrade from Jordan to Mozgov is significant, but Mozgov is still a solid starting-calibre center. Per 36, their numbers aren't that different, Jordan has an edge in rebounds. Mozgov shoots much better at the line, so in the playoffs teams can't exploit him like they could with Jordan. I don't think Crawford is the kind of guy you can depend on in the playoffs, so I move him for a similar, yet slightly worse player in Gerald Green. Afflalo and Tucker are both excellent, underrated 3 and D guys. Tucker in particular is an excellent defensive player and he gives the Clippers exactly what they want at the 3, great defense and three point shooting. He would also help with their rebounding woes.

This trade really strengthens the Clippers bench. Farmar/Afflalo/Green/Turkoglu/Hawes is a very solid bench.

Suns trade : PJ Tucker, Gerald Green, TJ Warren, Tyler Ennis

Suns receive : DeAndre Jordan, Matt Barnes, Nate Robinson

Suns get a perfect center for their run and gun system. They give up Tucker, who has been pretty important for their defense, and replace him with Barnes. They also give up Warren and Ennis, two recent first round picks who are getting very little playing time. I think it's worth trading them to get a guy like Jordan.

Nuggets trade : Aaron Afflalo, Timofey Mozgov, Nate Robinson

Nuggets receive : Jamal Crawford, TJ Warren, Tyler Ennis, Jared Cunningham.

Nuggets eat Crawford's contract and get two good prospects in return. They need a back up PG and Ennis finally gets some minutes. They also clear out their glut at center to give Nurkic more minutes. I see this as a move for the future more than anything else.

Trade 2

Clippers trade : JJ Redick

Clippers receive : Marvin Williams

Clippers move Redick for a better backup PF. Not sure if the value is completely fair, but Williams fills a big hole on the bench. Williams and Hawes can both stretch the floor. I don't know anything about Williams' defense, but he's a solid 3 or 4 to have off the bench. Afflalo moves to the starting lineup.

Hornets trade : Marvin Williams

Hornets receive : JJ Redick

Hornets would really benefit from a guy like Redick. Their spacing is a big reason why they have been so poor this year.


Final lineup

Paul/Farmar
Afflalo/Green/Bullock
Tucker/Green/Turkoglu
Griffin/Williams/Turkoglu
Mozgov/Hawes/Udoh

Gerald Green gets 25+ minutes between the 2 and 3. Turkoglu gets 10-20 minutes between the 3 and 4. Solid 12 man rotation that can compete with the best of them in the West, if Blake can get back into form a bit.

I like the first trade, but the trade for Willliams is a bad idea.

It would be a risk, but I think something w/ Lance would be a good move. Something around JJ Redick for Lance.

I know this probably contradicts everything the Clippers do and want to do, but would something along the lines of Jordan for Hibbert+ IMO makes them a better team.

Maybe include Atlanta who takes Crawford for Carroll+ too.

IND sends Hibbert, Stuckey for Jordan, CDR, Mack
ATL sends Carroll, Mack for Crawford
LAC sends Jordan, CDR for Hibbert, Carroll, Stuckey

Indy moves on from Hibbert while adding a young piece in Mack who has been serviceable at either G spot.
Atlanta adds a potent bench scorer to carry the team when Korver/Teague are sitting. Schroeder has been great but they may need a more reliable option in the playoffs.
Clippers decide to take a shot at a real defensive C while addressing defensive issues on the wing.

I frankly believe Hibbert will be better for LAC than Jordan. I understand he might hurt their offensive style, but I think the overall impact is a positive. They will be a much better defensive team, and they can continue to run after every stop.

I've been on the Trade Machine and its so hard to find a realistic package for Deandre Jordan that gives the Clippers a C and SF in return that are quality players.

Best I could come up with is Asik+Salmons....

This Clipper team f'd themselves up with giving Chris Paul all that money.

Isn't the answer just turning JJ+something into Jeff Green or Wilson Chandler? Am I wrong?

I'm finding it impossible to grade the value here so ya...but something around

JJ, Barnes, one of Wilcox/Bullock for Green

Henderson, Neal, no-idea-what-but value for JJ and Barnes

Green for Henderson, Neal, Char value, and one of Wilcox/Bullock

And an agreed Crowder for TPE deal done separately? Seems to work right? :/

Char gets a major upgrade to their 2nd unit with a wing duo that fits well.

Boston gets a decent prospect, some kind of value from Char, and a probably expiring for Green..

And LAC get the talented SF the team needs.. And Crowder is a nice defensive wing off the bench...

Like I said.. I find it impossible to grade the value of Bullock/Wilcox.. And have no idea what Char would add.. And kind of think their should be a fourth team taking Henderson as there's no reason Boston even adds a talented player - send him to Tor/Sac for one of their expirings and another 2nd for Boston..

It's been thrown around a bit on Clippers board but it's a 50/50 split between yes/no

It would likely be for Crawford if you ask Clips fans, his shot selection and defence are starting to wear thin, which is a disappointment after he had shown improvement in both last season.

I feel like that is a little light for Lance, maybe add a 3rd team. They're really in need of some spacing IMO, a guy like Redick fits perfectly. I don't know what Phoenix wants for Thomas, or how LAC feels about Hawes, but...

Charlotte trades Lance for IT.

LAC trades Crawford/Hawes for Lance.

PHX trades IT for Crawford/Hawes?

I think Hawes could be the new Frye, and would fit alongside Len. IT gives Charlotte a guy who can shoot, and Lance might be tamed by Doc/CP. Risky but could work.

Kind of like the idea of a Horford/DAJ based deal. Not sure if Atl would consider that, though. dj seems like a pretty bad fit in their offense.

Think they could use a guy like Jeff Green, Wilson Chandler(Dj and a piece for Chandler and Mozgov?).

I like the Crawford/TA idea someone mentioned as well.

Really hard for them to make many moves with the hard cap, and not much for contracts that aren't key pieces.
