For what? I'm guessing Augustin and KCP but that's a major stab in the dark

I wonder what Utah gets. Surely there is more than Perkins?

Latest reports I've seen:
Detroit gets: Reggie Jackson
OKC gets: Singler, Augustin, Kanter, Novak
Utah gets: Perkins (to be bought out)
I assume Utah gets some kind of consideration from Detroit, because (1) otherwise it's really two separate deals, and (2) otherwise it's shockingly bad for the Jazz.

I know OKC gets Augustin and I think Novak as well. Details have been slow in coming. And yeah I haven't seen any incentive for Utah yet.

What was the point for Utah, just dumping Novak? Pretty mediocre deal for them...unless they think that Kanter was going to hurt the locker room? Amazing deal for OKC, IMO. Augustin is a high level backup, Singler is a solid rotational guy, and Kanter is a good young scoring center. All for the corpse of Perk, an overrated backup PG that needs a new deal(and wants out), and taking on Novak. Steal..

Love this for OKC. Serious bench upgrade adding Novak, Kanter and Augustin. Really impressed with Presti.
I think it's a good move for Detroit as well. It's a bit of a head scratcher for Utah, but I think that just speaks to how horrendous Kanter's defense is and the fear that he could still get overpaid next year.

DJ was not a good backup maybe he will play good for OKC. But he didn't start playing well until he became the starter.

Salt Lake Tribune now reporting:
http://www.sltrib.com/sports/2198323-15 ... -kanter-toUtah will ALSO get a 1st and a 2nd rounder. No word on whose or what the protections are.

Though I think Jackson is overrated, this seems like an easy upgrade for the point. The only downside is Augustine is productive and already signed cheap for next season, while Jackson is expiring.

Thanks for that. Okay so I like this for Utah for sure. I like it for OKC for sure. Im withholding judgement for Detroit, but am underwhelmed atm.

Yeah, just checked out his splits. Seems that was the case last year for Chicago, too. Still think he will fill that role well for OKC, and can obviously play with WB too, and his shooting will help.

I don't get why Utah did this... I feel like Detroit got Jackson for a steal (really just DJ, who's a nice back up but not as valuable as RJ) and Utah gave up Kanter for just the ability to dump Novak? And they had to take on Perkins. I get he wanted out, but why not do an RJ for Kanter deal?? Is there a pick going to Utah that I'm missing?
