Who do you think made the best moves this deadline?
Detroit, Boston, Oklahoma City, and Miami

Who made the worst?
Phoenix - trading the Lakers first for Knight. Why not just hang onto Thomas?

Who was smart in standing pat?
Warriors. I kind of thought they'd at least see about moving Lee but not shaking things up makes sense when they've been this good.

Who's going to regret not doing anything?
LA Clippers. They're going to be scraping the barrel for veteran buyouts, when they needed more than that.

Any other general thoughts?
Detroit isn't really getting talked about, but they made out really well today.

Best: Bucks--great value, great fit.
Worst has to be the Suns. Don't even see an argument for any other team.
Standing pat: Warriors. Im cool with the Hawks as long as they use that cap space on Allen or buyouts.
Regrets: has to be the Raptors, no? Had assets and expirings to make something happen and I didn't even hear their name come up.

Thoughts: Holy cow was that exciting. I liked most of the moves this year when normally I don't like a lot of deadline deals. Liked what the Thunder did a lot. Like Dragic to Miami a lot. Philly did what Philly do. Liked Thomas to Celtics. Didnt understand the need to move McGee now. Hated everything the Suns did. Rockets made a couple of smart minor moves I thought. Portland made a good deal.

The winner is Thunda and the loser is the suns. Can't believe they traded away Lakers 1st round pick

Best moves: Thunder getting Kanter, Bucks getting MCW/Ennis/Plumlee, Knicks getting 2 2nd round picks for Prigorini
Worst: No terribles moves, MCW move questionable
Smartest: Hawks and Warriors standing pat.
Regret: Nets, why did they not cut salary/acquire youth/picks?

Its crazy the affect Dragic had on the PG market and how its going to dictate contracts awarded this off-season for Dragic, Knight, Jackson.

As a Knicks fan I love three things they did at the deadline:

1. Did not get Dragic because we would overpay him this off-season if we did.
2. Added draft picks and an expiring just for Pablo.
3. I'm sure they could have dumped Calderon if they included Tim Hardaway Jr. which they did not do. I love this because why use an asset to dump Calderon unless you're sure there's some one in place that wants to sign here. They will explore that option this off-season instead.

Winner: Kevin Garnett

Wow, well I was at work and my twitter was exploding w/ Woj....didn't really know of all the deals but from what I can tell PHX didn't do too well. I think GSW was good to stand pat though as well. Brooklyn kinda got hosed.

Also winners: feel-good stories. Nice to see KG and Tayshaun going "home", and Thad Young hopefully getting to put an awful year behind him in new surroundings.

Also losers: The "Why would anyone give anything for a rental?" brigade. Utah, and particularly Milwaukee, traded pending (and in Kanter's case, whining!) RFAs and still found buyers willing to give value. (Somewhat less so for OKC trading Reggie Jackson, but let's be honest, that guy was torpedoing his own trade value on a daily basis.) Dragic also landed two picks despite making things as difficult as he could.

Sixers.
Who was smart in standing pat?
Atlanta. They have something great going on and I'm glad that they didn't make any irrational decisions.
Who's going to regret not doing anything?
Raptors.
Any other general thoughts?
I love that the Big Ticket is going back to Minnesota!
I feel bad for the Nets.

Not about the other trades but I feel like Detroit are the losers

Most teams did well

Winners
OKC - nice haul for Reggie, bit iffy on Kanter's fit and role, but worth taking a chance, Suns probably got worse
MIL - i'm going back and forth here, I'm currently on loving the move, they avoid overpaying Knight, MCW could potentilly turn out in a great fit and get better under Kidd and if not maybe Ennis can (or they can tradehim to Raptors and unite Giannis and Bruno)
DET - got Reggie for nothing of value, amazing
PHI - got more picks, will win less games
MIA - Dragic for two distant firsts
HOU - KJ for free
NY - two 2nds for Prigioni
POR - bench guys and late pick for Afflalo

losers
Suns - IT was a secret agent from Kings that destroyed a playoff contender from the inside, Knight will hate it there for similar reasons Dragic did and they gave away Lakers pick

To clarify I have not seen any details to any trade. Not even sure about the rockets trades

Winner:
MIL win the deadline by a mile IMO. MCW + Miles Plumlee for Knight... Wow.
R/U: DET. Landed Reggie Jackson for Singler and a 2nd. For that type of value you pull the trigger and figure out Brandon Jennings later.

Loser:
PHX - downgrades both on the court and with picks. Ouch.
R/U: OKC. Had to do the RJ deal but then overpaid in value for the right to overpaid in $$ Kanter this off-season.

Stand Pat: ATL. Where ATL beats out GSW is watching the bottom of the East get significantly better - DET got RJ; BOS got Thomas; MIL got a haul; MIA got Dragic - so that BRK pick looks even better now.

Regrets:
CHI. Really think they're going to regret not lengthen their wing situation - especially with how much Thibs uses his charges.

Does everyone think the OKC deal was good because:
a) better than the supposed one with Nets
b) move out Reggie who the locker seems to dislike now (Westbrook comment was quite bad for someone who doesn't want to talk to the media when he want to)
c) really good on its own?
d) we avoided a followup move for Norris cole?

I like how the PG situation around the league is saturated but quite a fair number make a move today. Think there's easily 5-10 of them that did. And saying you want out really get team to move you. Is this the effect that Monroe taking the QO has on the league? Quite impressive that teams seems to value first now that they try to avoid using it to dump players (low first to dump McGee, Sanders being bought out)

Did any team make a move to get themselves below the cap?

For the position Phx was in I'm actually happy with the haul we got for Dragic. I like future picks because you just never know where a franchise will be. I like the IT trade, happy he gets to go somewhere he can lead a team, the dude deserves it with the passion he plays with every night. The Knight trade was a little off. I'm okay with the LAL pick going but would have liked to keep Ennis. Looking at the Lakers and the cap space they'll have, I just don't think that pick will end up top 10. Could be wrong I guess. Glad something happened though. Would have been even more upset with nothing happening.

Who do you think made the best moves this deadline?
The Thunder and Bucks, they did an awesome job at avoiding a massive over pay. Jackson isn't too great, but the Thunder got a nice backup PG, a nice role player in Novak, a decent prospect in Singler, and a pretty good center to help compete with and develop with Adams. Also, the Bucks swapped Knight for MCW which is fair by itself imo, and acquired Ennis and Plumlee as well.

HM: Philly, they sold low on Mcdaniels imo, but they turned MCW into the Lakers pick which is pretty promising, it could turn into two top ten picks for this draft or the next draft.

Who made the worst? Gimme the Suns! The Dragic deal is okay at best pending on the protection of the picks, they didn't get a quality player back though. They traded the Lakers pick, Thomas, Plumlee, Ennis and Dragic and got Knight, 2 Heat picks (likely mid 1sts), and role payers, not prospects, but just decently aged role players.

HM: Utah, they traded Kanter for Perkins

Who was smart in standing pat? Atlanta and Golden State, they've been silly good this season, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

HM: Spurs, same reason.

Who's going to regret not doing anything? Raptors, tons of expirings, and to pick a team who hasn't been mentioned, Indy. They are getting Paul George back and could make a playoff push in the easy east.

Any general thoughts?
Everyone's questioned Philly, but what on earth are the Suns doing? They made a few silly moves here.

Who do you think made the best moves this deadline? - Love what the Thunder did. Very deep now and the teams they were chasing both got worse. Selfishly, I like what Boston did. Thomas is basically a better version of Thornton and he's signed to a reasonable contract. And the pick they gave up is likely to be a very late first. The Celtics have enough of those.

Who made the worst? - Gotta be Phoenix, right? I know Dragic forced their hand, but they seem to have overreacted. That Lakers pick was gold and it turned in to Knight? Who could walk at the end of the year? I'm not sure I understand what happened here.

Who was smart in standing pat? - Golden State and Atlanta. They are the two best teams in the league right now for a reason. If it isn't broke, no need to fix it.

Who's going to regret not doing anything? - Tie for me between Toronto (Contender Division) and Orlando (Rebuilding Division). Toronto needed to add at least one more pieces. Either a big or more scoring. They stood pat. We'll see if that works. And Orlando should be in consolidation mode. I guess they want to give their guys a chance with a new coach, but I have to believes they could have gotten something for Harkless and Nicholson. Even if it was minor.

Any other general thoughts? - What a crazy, amazing, awesome day. Details are still being sorted out on details hours after. Man what a day.
