What would you trade for Jones? What do you think he is worth? How high of a draft pick do you think he's worth?
Thanks for the input!

I like him. But he's on the last year of that rookie deal and he's dealt with some injuries. I don't see any way you could get a lotto pick for him. Something in the 20's seems about right if a team has a need at PF.

Top 30. Top 20 means something in the late teens and he isn't worth that for the reasons Chuck brought up. But you might squeeze out a late first.

Everyone should keep in mind that THjr. was traded for a top 20 pick at this last draft and he hasn't shown anything at all besides being strickly a shooter thats not great at shooting.

I think a late Lotto. 12-15 range. Guy is still very young and is a positive when out on the floor. The likelihood of getting a better player in most drafts in that range is slim.

I'd like to add that his injuries last season were freak ones that he likely won't have a problem with recurrence in the future.
His rookie season he was stuck in the D-league because that's the rockets system for developing most rooks.
Sophomore year he was healthy and played well.
This season he was injury riddled with freak injuries most of the season, but still played well when he got minutes.
The guy has only really played one full healthy season, he still has plenty of potential left (Just 23 y/o). But like Chuck Texas mentioned, he is expiring (will be restricted), and the big's are getting PAID with the cap rise. Thad Young, a semi comparable player who is 4 years older got 12 mill per year THIS off season. It's quite possible Jones even gets 15 mill per next off-season, I think the minimum he will receive is likely 10 mill per year.
I personally believe he's worth something between 15-20th in the draft, chances are he's better then most players outside the top 10, but at the same time those guys won't be getting paid 10+ mill per.

Somewhere between 15 and 20. I quite like him, but as others have said, injuries and the pending new contract are a factor. If I'm Houston, I hold on to him; he's a great fit there.

Comparing players that play different positions, in different circumstances doesn't make much sense.
It only takes 1 team to like the player in order to get decent value for him.
Houston traded Budinger for the 18th pick of the 2012 draft that (Terrence Jones) and Chase was nothing more than a 3p shooter that couldn't defend a chair in the last year of his rookie contract. I doubt HOU would get similar value from the other 29 teams in the league.
Said that, I think HOU could get a 1st for Jones, not a lottery pick though.

I think he's a really valuable piece if you can lock him up for 10 or less. Otherwise he's not worth much to me if he's making in the teens per year. He's just not well rounded enough to afford that money to.

Toronto would have a interest a player like Lucas Nogueira or Ross and 2016 Raptor 1st likely 18th to 22nd

Power Forward's in general are not going to have alot of trade value because everyone has one.
Doesn't make sense for the Rockets to move him for anything outside of a pick in to the 10-20 range.
Even if we let him walk in the offseason, his one year contributions are more valuable than anything we would probably get in return.

I wouldn't be opposed to a Fournier/Jones swap.
Both on contract years, both fills a need, both had injuries last yr which they have recovered from and both played well when given minutes.
Makes too much sense so it probably wont happen.

This makes me smile knowing the value we can get for Terrence Jones.

You guys would have to offer a bit more to sweeten the deal.
I like Evan, he could be a useful asset to our scoring off the bench.

A second should do it, we have plenty.
Jones
for
Fournier
2nd (Chicago's or Portland's)

If Harden went out for the year, Fournier might make sense. With Thornton and KJ, no more shooting guard depth is needed - especially at the cost of a starting power forward (will be between Motie and TJ for starting - and might depend upon matchups on any given night).
If a solid veteran came in - then he could be made available.
Rox:
pg - Ty, Beverly, JTerry
sg - Harden, Thornton, KJ
sf - Ariza, Brewer, Dekker
pf - TJ, Motie, Harrell
c - Howard, Capela, Hayes
pg - two solid starters
sg - star, veteran backup and young guy developing
sf - veteran role player perfect for system, great 6th man, young guy to develop
pf - two young guys with good potential, a young guy to develop
c - star, young guy with some potential, old veteran that can fill in season minutes
What is missing?
1 - a slightly more proven backup center that can hit free throws.
2 - one of the power forwards becomes clearly the guy - with all star game potential.
So, dealing TJ for a backup g or sf does not work. A stud backup center like JVal would round out everything but the pf spot - or a package for Ryan Anderson would round out the pf spot.

That being said, NO could use Fournier:
NO gets Fournier, JTerry
HOU gets Rhino, a pick
ORL gets TJ
Something like that would be more interesting
