He is a very good backup PG. He is a very mediocre at best starter.
Last year Collison was a better defender than Holiday, at this point in time mediocre starter is what both of them are. Even his All-star Philly year wasn't as impressive as the volume stats made it seem, and he has never been that player since. Again, Holiday is slightly better, but isn't pushing the Kings into the playoffs if you swap him and Collison straight up. It's probably not even enough improvement to be worth paying the extra salary. Then you add that Gay is way better than either and Anderson is pretty much worthless right now.
