Simple: Blake Griffin for Kevin Love

Post#1 » by DowJones » Fri Feb 5, 2016 8:22 pm

Blake is a better player but Love has the better contract and is healthy. Love also fits really well with Jordan and Love would be featured more in LA and would benefit by playing with CP3.

As a Cleveland fan I don't know if I say yes to this, but it is close.

Griffin hurts the already bad spacing that Cleveland has.

What fun is it to suggest trades that are only in your team's favor? This is a 50-50 one to me and those are fun to discuss.

Griffin can shoot out to 3 and not bad a defender in space. Still not a great rim protector but better than Love.

a long time ago i though kevin love was amazing and leagues ahead of where blake would ever be.

now the roles are swapped to me. better scorer, defender, passer, etc. then one day blake will start shooting 3's and be on par with him there too. LA could do significantly better.

I wouldn't do it. Kyrie isn't CP3 and the Cavs issues might actually get worse after this trade. I don't see Griffin sitting back and watching Kyrie and LBJ ISO when the going gets tough without making real noise.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Clippers Receive: Love + Ariza

Rockets Receive: Griffin + Lance + Mozgov

Cavs Receive: Howard + Motie or Jones

Doesn't fix either team's issues. The Cavs need a shot blocking STARTING BIG and a 3D wing.

Love doesn't take the Clippers from second tier contender to first tier contender, so why would they want to trade the player who you are saying is the better player?

Blake really has more value though? he provides 0 spacing...

The problem is that to come out of the West, you have to beat Spurs and Warriors ultimately. Can DJ-Love or DJ-Griffendor compete with SAS? Maybe... Can they compete with GS small ball?? No way... Love basically has to be removed from the court till proven otherwise against GS (not to mention lackluster defense from Crawford, and average at best defense from JJ). Griffen being athletic at least and a post presence means that he can play C and overwhlem Green (possibly get him in foul trouble).
While I LOVE this trade for LAC on the video game, ultimately their chance at a ring is by going small with Blake Griffen pretending to be Shaq vs GS small ball.

If DJ evolved into a better post player (which he may be) then I would pull that trigger in a second.

Where does the notion come from that Griffin provides 0 spacing? He actually has a pretty decent midrange game so it wouldn't surprise me to see him start shooting 3s next year.

people who don't watch him think he provides zero spacing. and that's a god damn fallacy.
