How to not get yourself traded for a Top 55 protected Pick: Trade Board Guidelines
Posting new topics guidelines:
When posting a new thread with a trade idea:
1) Check that the identical or similar enough idea is not already posted.
2) Post reasons for every team involved (and all players with no trade clauses). Make sure to be considering a deal from all sides, not just your favorite team's.
3) Make sure the deal is CBA legal (Resources here include Realgm and ESPN trade checkers, cbafaq.com, Smitty sheets and basketballinsiders salary databases)

2) Post the news type and source in the title: I.e "Rumor [Broussard]: Miami plans to offer Dion Waiters a max contract"
or "Official [WOJ]: Dion Waiters signs 4/80 with Miami"
3) Include a link to the sourcing in the OP
4) When relevant, polls capturing the sense of a free agent deal or at the time are great; i.e. Waiters new deal: Good for him / Good for Miami / Good for both / Good for Neither;
When posting other topics:

2) Feel free to bring a broad range of topics to this board:
Whats you best plan for this team, Get a pf to that team, Best offer for this player, Should this team have done this deal, Which player is worth more? How much should an expansion team cost? Will TV ratings decline with cord cutting and how will that effect future salary caps? Should the salary cap be abolished/changed? The board's strength is the creativity of its members. Have fun!
3) TMZ style news -- Kloe is dating Dion Waiters is not a TnT board topic. Player X gets suspended for 10 games is.
4) When in doubt, feel free to post a topic.
General Behavior Guidelines:
1) Why you don't like a deal is far more valuable than that you don't like a deal
Don't just post gifs or pictures this does not meet the minimum posting standard on this board, don't just post LOL terrible, don't respond with an unreasonable counter offer to 'show' how bad the deal is. Instead explain where the valuation and/or fit falls short, Explain why the player is more valuable/better/important/beloved by management and when possible give a reasonable idea of what your team might be looking to do instead or a reasonable modification to the original proposal.
2) Discuss the (faulty) ideas not the (faulty) posters
Don't attack another poster, fanbase, call someone a homer, accuse them of not watching basketball, just following stats or in general take a bad trade as a good reason to bash a city, their team and all their fans.
Instead, when you disagree with someone, discuss what ideas they posted you disagree with and why you believe a different perspective is correct.
3) Remember to take perspective
This board has fans of many teams and individuals with a wide variety of views. Other fans will naturally value players and picks different than you might. But keep in mind that it is not always that everyone hates your team or your players, that everyone is misinformed, or biased against you, your ideas and your favorite team's players. Pause and consider their arguments, and always keep in mind that you might be the one who is mistaken when disagreements do happen. Allow others to disagree.

When rules are not followed, moderators will use friendly in thread blue fonted (usually) reminders when possible, but will also issue warnings, suspensions and board bans as necessary. Repeatedly receiving the same friendly reminders will result in warnings, as will serious violations of the above rules. Repeated warnings will result in suspensions. If you have a question about any moderation issue, please pm a forum moderator, do not debate moderation in threads.
