No because if you put him on the floor and something awful happens, bad look doesn't begin to cover it. Plus it looks like he's going to fight decisions made by team doctors. Who wants to trade for someone else's problem.

I think you can get back an OK asset (maybe a young player that looks like a rotational piece) for him right now. There has to be a few teams willing to take the risk in the hopes that it pushes them to the next level. Maybe a team like the Spurs for something like Kyle Anderson+filler+pick.

Wow I think you're really overstating his current value. right now Don't think he's moveable.

Maybe after a full year of play without health issue, and even that that package might be too sweet (I really like kyle Anderson)

A full year of good health and a physical? Then he's worth a lot.

If he plays 40-50 games this season, there will likely be teams desperate enough to take a shot.

If he plays under 15-20 games, Evan Turner or Asik.. But, I think NOP would do that today..

So I voted all three.. But I think Asik is the only available contract I'd swap him for right now.

The issue is him having blood clots and what is causing them/will he need lifelong blood thinners which if you are on you can't play professional basketball. It actually has nothing to do with his on court play and entirely down to what his medical reports look like. If a team looks at his medicals and can reasonably say he doesn't need blood thinners and shouldn't have any more clots then he has full trade value today. He still a great NBA player and its not like his medical issues were any sort of knee/back/foot issue that makes him a worse player.

That being said my hunch is that the reason he had his weird stalemate is that he felt fine to play/maybe thinks he doesn't need the blood thinners and the team doctors are saying he needs them and thus can't play. If that is the case we likely have seen the last of him on an NBA court because if the doctors say he shouldn't be flying without blood thinners a team can't in good conscience clear him even if he is willing to take that risk.

Nobody is trading for a guy owed over $75M who has a health problem that has a good chance of recurrence.

I believe the reason that you can't play with blood clots is that if they break free they can be fatal and playing sports greatly increases the chance of that happening. That's why Bosh has been shutdown the last two years, they had to wait for the blood clots to break down before he could get back on the court.

Nobody is going to risk a Hank Gathers situation. If Miami is scared to play him, the other teams will be scared to play him.

Depends on what team doctors have to say. My guess is no, but maybe trade deadline 2018 a contender (SAS, Boston) would take a flier on him knowing they are only on the hook for one summer.

I, for one, 100% agree with not playing him. He has a family & that should come first. Since he still gets his $ if he retires due to medical reasons, then there is no monetary incentive to play. Look after your family & enjoy what you have - which at this point includes your health!

But, as you said, that doesn't mean all teams will think the same. And he's entitled to think differently as well.

All he can do is get back to himself on the court. If he can do that, hey've got a good nucleus up from with him and Whiteside. Too much money, too many years and q8estionable health.

I would risk a trade of Nikola Pekovic and Adreian Payne for Chris Bosh and some other incentive. That is literally it though.
