Simple deal:

Melo for Caroll+Sullinger (exp)+Delon Wright+2017 LAC 1st+2017 TOR 1st

WHY FOR THE RAPS?
1) They are going for it by establishing themselves as the clear threat to Cleveland in the EAST.

WHY FOR THE KNICKS?
1) Melo agrees to waive his NTC to move about 350 miles away (a really short plane ride) to contend for a title.
2) The Knicks are not going to be winning anytime soon. Give the keys to the team to KP, and build with some youth. Wright is a recent 1st rounder, and should get all the PT he can. They are tanking anyways at this point, and those two late firsts could net something valuable if they scout properly.

I mean, if the Knicks would do this...sure.

Lowry | Joseph | VanVleet
DeRozan | Powell
Anthony | Ross | Caboclo
Patterson | Siakam
Valanciunas | Noguiera

Personally, at that point, i'd probably try and swap Valanciunas with Whiteside, or something of that sort, to give more of a defensive presence.

Raptors two biggest issues that need to be addressed by trade are defense and rebounding. This trade does absolutely nothing to help that.

Melo has always been somewhat inefficient, but this year he's shooting a career low 42% and his defense has never been good. That being said if this trade was offered I'd still likely pull the trigger and look to trade some other pieces to bring back a PF and C that both rebounds and defends at a high level. With Lowry /DeRozan /Melo on the team raps would need big men that don't need to be involved in the offense to be effective, so JV would be the first to go.

The Raptors don't give up awhole personnel wise, but those two draft picks could be very useful to fill the roster with inexpensive role players to avoid large tax bills.

Adding Melo would make the offense more dynamic and very difficult for any teams to game plan for. Find a way to bring back Whiteside and Ibaka/Millsap and you've got yourself a title team.

We need more defense not offense
