Boston goes all in with the Knicks and Kings.

Here is a nutty idea, if Ainge wanted to try and repeat his magic and the Kings decided to move on from Cousins.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=grdlpb6

NY: Johnson and Brown, Boston 2019 1st and Mem 2019 1st.
Boston: Melo and Cousins
Kings: Zeller, Jerebko, Smart, both nets picks.

I will admit I don't know Boston's roster that well, the players I included above were to make salaries work. So those could be adjusted.

Why NY: They move on from Melo and get two 1sts. The Memphis pick may end up being good, Boston's doesn't come until 2019, and most likely still won't be a lotto pick then. Could be moved up to 2017 or 2018, but those seemed to have less value given the roster after the trade.

Why Kings: If they do decide to move on from Cousins, you can't get any better than two possible #1 picks in the draft.

Why Boston: They have a starting roster of Cousins, Melo, Horford, Bradley, and IT with Crowder and Olynyk off the bench. I'm not sure about the rest of the bench players? As for Melo, he'll finally be on a team in which he knows he doesn't have to carry the scoring for and may play more like he does in the Olympics, focusing on his all around game. The team (depending on bench) could take out Cleveland and with it's size and IT, may be able to take out GS in the finals.

Are the values close? Far off? Let me have it!

Cousins isn't on the block right now. As long as he lives up to his resigning an extention this summer he will be a King. Should he not sign this summer we can trade him prior to deadline of next year.

If the Kings traded Cousins (and I don't think they will), this is what the Kings should deal him for. Two cracks at drafting franchise talents, in addition to their own picks. The players aren't much to ogle at, but those picks are the prize.

I see NY taking this and running. I think they would probably trade Melo straight up for Jaylen Brown and expiring filler if that was offered to them, and they liked Brown - reroute the other picks to Sacramento and it's still 10x better than what the Clippers offered.

So Anthony turns into Jaylen Brown and 2 1sts. Riiiiiight.

Seems a little heavy.

Not to mention Amir Johnson who's probably a better player right now by himself.

You seriously just claimed Amir Johnson is better than Melo? So I can ignore the rest of your post, thanks.

It was either Brown or Crowder to make salaries match, and I know Crowder is the one Boston would want to keep. Brown at least stat wise, doesn't look like much, and the 2019 Boston pick would still be a late first rounder (even if Boston didn't resign Melo). Maybe the Boston 2019 to the Kings. I really don't they'd trade Melo for just Brown though.

RipPizzaGuy -> Great point, maybe the two picks get (or three) gets them to change their opinion. But Cousins resigning with the new super max, seems quite likely.

I said probably. It's pretty close.

Also, Crowder is vastly better than Anthony. And Brown has a ton of potential.

Just a hotrible, horrible proposal.

Adding Carmelo would be pretty unnecessary if you're trading for Cousins.

EDIT: As requested by a mod, I have to defend my LOL's at a ridiculous claim. I honestly don't know how to, as a guy who's averaging 6 ppg & 4rpg is clearly not better then a guy averaging 23 and 6. :banghead: I think you're out of your mind. I think you know nothing about basketball or that you're trolling or that you're hating on Melo because it's the "in thing" to do. Is that better, Hartford?

There you go.

That's a pretty good deal for the Kings, if they were looking to rebuild.
Celtics don't give up too much and get a certified g and a bona fide stud in Melo & you can't teach that, and Boogie who's 7 foot tall and you can't teach that. I think this puts Celtics above the Cavs and would be fun to watch, though it's probably far fetched.
And I honestly have no idea what the Knicks are asking for with Melo.

He's among the worst defensive players in the league. And he's not particularly good on offense either.

It appears I'm one of the few around here who understands that he pretty much sucks.

Whatever.

Celtics aren't giving anywhere close to that amount of value for either the Knicks part or the Cousins part. Celtics say no.

edit: You could talk me into both BRKs for Cousins on the right day, but I'm not sending Smart out in any win now moves.

Saying Amir Johnson is probably a better player than Melo is like saying my bouncing man boobies are more interesting to look
than the bouncing boobs on the girl in your profile picture. There is no rational argument to suggest either statement has any basis in reality.

I try to be civil but please GTFO with this Melo to Boston ****. don't want him. and definitely not for Brown and Picks. He does not have anywhere close to that kind of value.
If Cousins is on the block then that is something to consider, but I don't think the 2017 Brooklyn pick will be moved.

Melo does not compare to those boobs. more like a 50 year old ex-hooker that had a couple bad boob jobs in the 80s.

Melo is a better player than Amir. but trade value is pretty close.

As expected of realGM, the Melo haters have come on out! Although buckboy has certainly taken the cake!

OFWGKTA -> Smart could be removed for two lesser players. Like I had mentioned, I don't know the roster that well.

Melo for Brown (prospect with potential) a late first in 2019 and a first that may be good, is definitely a bargain. Melo would flourish on the court, not having to carry a trash team for the first time in quite a while.

this might help you with Melo Value.
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1519648

filler and a mid to late first seems to be where most folks thought he is.

again, adding Melo is not an option for the Cs. hard pass.

He was a great player, but that time is long gone. he still scores but little else. his impact on winning is negligible.
