A deal even Bucks fans can't hate with DAL

Post#1 » by Texas Chuck » Sun Aug 13, 2017 7:13 pm

Devin Harris

for

Spencer Hawes
2018 MIL 2nd (31-40 protected, if does not convey Dal gets nothing)

Dal spends $1.6M to buy a late 2nd and gets a bigger contract to aggregate at the deadline where I think its possible Dallas tries to steal a good player from a team looking to clear cap for next summer. And gives Devin Harris a chance to play meaningful basketball on a good team rather than being the 6th guard on a bad one.

Bucks get under the tax line and turn a player with seemingly no role into a local kid who could give them 10-15 mpg off the bench.

I don't really think it needs the protection, but if it keeps it make it turn into cash if not conveyed.

Edit: Actually cannot because Dallas took in max cash already.

It's a win.

I'd rather see Barea on the Bucks, since I think they could use his game more.. But Harris does fit with the team better

Kidd really likes big guards for a switching defense - so Barea would be a tough sell.

I think the Bucks can 'gamble' with an unprotected 2nd to get (a little bit) better on-court and out of the luxury tax.

Wait... what's the Harris role for the Bucks?

Do Bucks fans hate Delly enough to want to burry him? Or is that Middleton is going to have to play mostly SF?

Honestly he probably wouldn't have a role. Just saves some money and he isn't Spencer Hawes, so that's a plus too.
