The Best Wing for Bebe

Post#1 » by Duffman100 » Thu Aug 17, 2017 12:18 pm

Raps need a wing, otherwise Bruno might actually get PT. Bebe is a bit redundant with JV and Poeltl.

Bebe brings good defense and shot blocking, good passer and good lob finisher.

What say you?

I mean you probably can get a guy of similar age / upside / production. So a good solid role playing young wing.
I was impressed with bebe last year.took a nice step and showed he deserves the PT given him. Not going to bring back a guy with star potential or anything.
could probably get a useful vet rotation player as well, but then likely challenges with salary matching.

I think he would have similar trade value to Terry Rozier, but more that Stauskis.

Maybe in line with Jeremy Lamb?

a lot of the guys I think of...like Tony Snell for instance... got paid a bit. So matching up salary for a trade becomes a challenge.

Aaron Afflalo maybe if they want a vet?

Trade value wise, Bebe will be an RFA so he won't bring back a lot in a trade. I think he can earn 10 million year next year if he has a similar season again.

Not looking for anyone amazing really. Hopefully OG will fight whoever we get for minutes.

Just someone to play as a stop-gap until OG returns, or is there for decent depth in case of injury. Otherwise Bruno is going to get minutes..and that's scary.

I think the biggest problem is going to be finding a team that has too many wings and needs a center.

Maybe Brooklyn?

There was a 3 team trade posted weeks ago. A shuffle the deck Colangelo style deal

Bulls get Bebe
OKC gets Portis
Raptors get McBuckets

I don't mind it since it addresses depth for each team

I'd do it for OKC but Bulls just re-signed Felicio. Don't see why they'd do that.

TJ Warren might be a possibility depending on what Suns do with Len. McDermott would be ideal but I think realistc choice might be Quincy Acy

TJ Warren would be ideal, but I can't see the Suns giving up on a really good bench scorer.

Acy at SF worries me.

Yeah, Acy is more a PF/C than SF.
I'd give up Harris or Kilpatrick for Bebe.

If OKC moves Kanter to shore up 3/4, I'd do Grant for Bebe.

I'd also do the one where OKC gets Portis, and would use either McD or Grant in that.

I don't think Lopez is a 3 or a 4. Have been wrong before though

If the Spurs like Forbes and Blossomgame enough, I could see Bebe for Kyle Anderson working for both sides.

I think a Bebe trade for a wing is likelier if a 5 gets hurt and some team needs a decent option to cover 20 minutes. Bebe has great RAPM numbers and he's got obvious strengths (length, passing) even if his rebounding, scoring and switching aren't great. I think he'd be a great fit as Portland's backup 5, so maybe Bebe and Carroll for Evan Turner and a 1st (for the extra year) might have made sense with the Raptors 3 years and rebuild plan, though Turner and DeMar could literally never play together so you're talking about paying 17M a year to a guy getting 12 minutes a game.

We just gave Felicio 32 mil/4 year so there might not be much PT for him here in Chicago. However I'd still do this but sub out Portis for Mirotic. I'd like to hang on to Portis and Lauri

This is the problem with any Bebe trade. No one is giving up anything of value for him, even if he is young, can run, and block shots. So, you got to look at other wings that are on similar contracts. Stauskas (no, not with all the bigs) and Kyle Anderson (they also have a lot of bigs) are the only people I can think of. So, I don't think trading Bebe is realistic, unless part of a larger trade.

Well Raps just signed KJ McDaniels, who while not as good as I would have hoped for this role, seems to be the person.

Good signing IMO. I have always liked KJ.

Yeah sort of exactly what we needed.

Better than Bruno
Will fight OG for minutes
Not as good as Norman, so Casey won't overplay him.

Not a wing as such, but I'd offer Seth Curry.

If Wright and VanVleet struggle to be capable backups I could see this deal going down. Seth is a decent backup guard. He doesn't do one thing amazingly well but he is smart and good at getting deflections and is a good three point shooter plus a expiring deal as well
