Det and Memphis

Post#1 » by MotownMadness » Sat Aug 19, 2017 1:52 pm

Det out- Reggie, Harris and 18 1st (top 3 protected)
Det in- Conley and Dillon Brooks

Memphis out- Conley and Brooks
Memphis in- Reggie, Harris and 18 1st

Det gets a very good pg too help with their playoff push and complete a solid backcourt between Conley and Bradley

Memphis does this if they decide to pull the plug and rebuild. They get back a solid young forward in Harris on a decent contract and 1st rounder. Reggie could come back to form as well.

Normally I would think Conley would have more value but with that big contract and him being 30 I feel this is about right.

We are in 2017, assuming you meant 2018 not Kennard.

Memphis would say no imo. If they were gonna rebuild I don't think RJax and Tobias are good starter pieces.

Reggie Jackson has negative value. He has a big contract, his health is a huge question, and his teammates hate him. Detroit is going to have to keep him and make deals centered around other players...as hard as that might be for them to swallow.

I voted that Memphis would say no.

-Reggie Jackson appeared to be much more of a burden than benefit for Detroit. I wouldn't want a selfish player with average skills to run my offense.
-Tobias Harris is a good player, but I don't see him being a key piece to Memphis' future unless you can convince him to re-sign with a rebuilding team.
-The 2017 1st would end up being anywhere from #15 to #25, and that seems a little light for a great two-way player like Mike Conley.

It's just his age and long term contract that lowers his value but right now he's a great player but I just worry about the last couple years of his contract. So I'm having a hard time wondering what teams would be willing to give while also matching salaries in a trade.

This is a much better trade than the OP but I still doubt Memphis does it.

I'd make unloading Parsons part of any Conley trade if I'm MEM, and that's going to be hard to swallow.
