Ill offer this idea for the Raptors to add a backup wing while the Thunder get a backup C.
To Toronto
-Jerami Grant
-$2.9 million TPE
To OKC
-Lucas Noguiera
-$1.5 million TPE
-2020 2nd round pick
Why
-The Raptors get another needed wing in Grant who can backup Miles at the 3.
Lowry/Wright/VanVleet
DeRozan/Powell/McDaniels?
Miles/Grant/Anunoby
Ibaka/Siakam/Caboclo
Valinciunas/Poeltl/Meeks?
-The Thunder get a backup C as an RFA in Noguiera. Given contracual differences/luxury tax implications, the Thunder get back a 2020 2nd to help off-set the 2020 1st they owe.
Westbrook/Felton/Christon
Roberson/Abrines/Fergusson
George/Huestis/Singler
Anthony/Patterson/Collison
Adams/Noguiera/Johnson

I see no reason why the raps need to add a pick here.

Bebe is significantly better than Grant though, and while Grant looks like a wing, he's only been effective as a big. Makes no sense for Toronto.

Doubt the Thunder are giving up Grant. Donovan's in love with him.

I feel like this is a deal that both teams should make but OKC would prob want to hold onto Grant. He seems like a guy who their management likes, Toronto I feel does a bit better as they get a guy who can come in and be a defensive minded wing and help ease OG in and gives us plenty of options. Grant could be a SF/PF hybrid and lets the bulk of the guard minutes go to DeRozan and Powell and lets CJ Miles/OG and Grant eat up the SF minutes when we need to.

Noguiera would be nice to have, but OKC should hold onto Grant. If we traded Grant we'd have to play Singler or Huestis.

I'd expect that OKC would just play Abrines and Patterson all of the bench minutes at SG/SF/PF. So if healthy they wouldn't have to play Singler or Huestis.
There's also the case that Grant isn't really better then Singler or Hoestis. Maybe he looks better, but he did end up DFL among all players listed at SF last year in RPM.
As I stated elsewhere, the big win in the Melo trade for OKC is taking Grant and McDourmott out of the rotation.

Well suffice to say, Raptors could throw 31-45 protection on that 2nd round pick to mitigate degree of risk.

He was garbage on RPM, but think he'll be fine with better players around him. I agree he wasn't good though.
But who's playing SF? Look at our depth chart. They'll probably stagger some, but Grant's the only SF/PF hybrid on the bench.

I'd assume Melo slides between PF and SF. Something like this:
Westbrook (38) / Felton (10)
Roberson (28) / Abrines (20)
George (36) / Melo (12)
Melo (20) / Patterson (28)
Adams (32) / backup C not currently on roster (16)
At full health. Patterson's far too good to just play 16 mpg behind Melo, especially when Melo can easily play SF and the other SF depth options are so poor.
Obviously you'd want a couple extra guys who aren't horrible for depth in case of injuries, but given how expensive OKC's starting 5 is that will be tough.

I'm a big proponent of the idea "get all the halfway skilled wings and swings you can".
OKC doesn't like leaving holes in the bench rotation (they won't even leave a hole in the deep bench). Singler would be a hole. I don't think Grant is going anywhere.

Is the plan to play Patterson at backup C? He's typically been bad in that role. So backup C is a hole for me.
Not saying I disagree with needing wings though.

Right now I'm assuming Johnson is the plan there. Other than that no idea but he's the biggest body.

I'd actually lean Collison. Know he didn't play much last year but he was vocal about wanting to play more this year.

Can't so I know anything about him. But I just hope there's limited PP at C minutes.

Not sure why you'd want to give up on Grant. I think he has some real potential to be a difference maker like Roberson on D..
