UTA - SAC (Zach Randolph)

Post#1 » by babyjax13 » Sun Mar 4, 2018 5:32 pm

Utah trades: Jonas Jerebko, 2018 2nd
Sacramento trades: Zach Randolph

Utah gets a power forward that fits perfectly into our schemes. If Favors leaves we still have someone, if he stays we have a great 3 man rotation up front.

Sacramento gets a mid second round pick and drops some salary.

Probably has to be agreed upon on draft day but executed when salaries flip over to the next year, but still doable.

If Favors stays with Utah, then the Jazz would probably need to send out more salary than Jerebko to make a trade for Zach workable.

Utah would have a stretch PF as the most likely pick in the first round?

We have an expiring Alec Burks who could be a good candidate to breakout. Had some good stretches but I also think his leg is a lot worse than we thought. Still, salary matching can be figured out, but I don't think Favors will cost too much. Expiring+2nd for Randolph is basically what we have to offer. Also I think we'd like to bring whatever rookies we get along slowly. A year of Randolph will give them time to get an NBA body while we get the other young players playoff experience.

Randolph will be 37, cost $12M, and hit fewer than one 3-pointer per game. I actually like him, but he's not exactly a guy I would rush out to acquire. Maybe if we let Favors go, find a really good fit at stretch PF first, and have some capspace left over at the end of FA.

Jerebko is better than Randolph. Why would we be doing this?

One more Jazz fan checking in not interested in the deal.
I bought a boat.
