Raptors/Clippers/Kings
Ill offer this idea for DeRozan to go to LAC while the Kings get a starting SF and Raptors younger replacement SG, cap relief and picks.
To Toronto (Trade DeRozan)
-#13 pick from LAC
-Buddy Hield (1 year, $3.8 million plus TO)
-Patrick Beverly (1 year, $5.5 million unguaranteed; waive)
-Garret Temple (1 year, $8 million)
-Sam Dekker (1 year, $2.7 million)
To Los Angeles (Trade Harris, #13, Beverly, Dekker)
-DeMar DeRozan (3 years, $83.2 million)
To Sacramento (Trade Hield, Temple)
-Tobias Harris (1 year, $14.8 million)
Why
-Raptors get a lottery pick a viable/developing SG on rookie contract, a depth SF and a depth PF. They can draft Alexander at #13 as a local boy and let VanVleet walk.
Lowry/Wright/#13
Hield/Powell/Richardson
Anunoby/Miles/Temple
Ibaka/Siakam/Dekker
Valinciunas/Poeltl/Noguiera
-Clippers get a allstar SG in DeRozan.
Tedosic/Rivers/Evans
DeRozan/Williams/Thornwell
#12/Johnson/FA
Gallinari/Harrell?/FA
Jordan/Marjanovic/FA
-The Kings get a young but seasoned SF while I assume they draft Donic at #2.
Fox/FA?/Mason
Bogdanovic/#2/Shumpert
Harris/Jackson/#35
Randolph/Labisiere/Giles
Stein/Koufos/FA?

Re: Raptors/Clippers/Kings
Harris would be a fun fit on the Kings but his contract is expiring. Now is not the time for Sacramento to be giving up guys like Hield for a player who could walk after a year.

Kings are high on Buddy. No way they trade him for Harris, who is entering FA.

With the emergence of Bogdanovic (started 52 games) at 2 this past season and if they draft Doncic, will the Kings have a role for Hield moving forward?

I still think they should give it time and figure it out (maybe Bogs or Doncic can play the 3), but it's a fair question.
But even if they do decide Hield is an odd man out, trading him for an expiring doesn't make sense. At least trade him for a guy you know you can keep.

This is shortsighted. Even if Bodanovic is starting that doesn't mean Hield couldn't play 30 minutes a game off the bench. There are nearly 150 minutes per game between the 1, 2, and 3. Even if the Kings draft Doncic that still only gives them 4 big time minute players at those 3 positions (Fox, Doncic, Bogdanovic, and Hield)--more than enough minutes for all of them.

Love Tobias would love to add him in addition to our core. Offering any of Skal/WCS/Jackson/Mason/2nd and cap space which I don't think is enough. Wouldn't give Bogdan/Hield/Fox/#2

The Rockets are proving you can play 3 guards heavy minutes with no problems.

I like Harris but I'm not trading Buddy Hield for him. Biggest issue is he's expiring.

Yes, as our 30 minute per night 6th man.

So Buddy Hield has more value than DeRozan?
And fetches Harris and a #13 pick..
Umm right.

Take out 13 and Beverly, I still don't consider this from LA.

I don't like the return for the Kings. I'd say no for Sac, they're not getting enough to give up Buddy.

Toronto I feel like is getting the most value here. Hield, #13 and pure expiring deals is a really good haul for DeRozan and stats the rebuild.

So the clips try to win 44 versus 40 wins and give up young talent for the privilege. The are one Jordan opt out away from being lucky to win 30 as it is. What is the point of having DeRozen when you second best player is Gallinari after the trade if Jordan opts out.
