Boston-Pelicans

Post#1 » by Mykhyn » Sat May 26, 2018 11:46 pm

Kyrie Irving + Jaylen Brown + Kings pick + Memphis pick + Clippers pick for Anthony Davis

Boston condenses assets to get the best fit in the league.
Rozier/Smart/Larkin
Hayward/Smart
Tatum/Hayward/Morris
AD/Morris
Horford//Baynes

Healthy I have them as the best team in the league.

Pelicans would follow this up resigning boogie.

Kyrie/Holiday
Holiday/Moore
Brown/Hill
Mirotic
Boogie/Okafor

They'd have a pretty complete team for the first time in ages

No tatum no deal. You start with Tatum and Kings pick and then add from there.

That's pretty narrow minded, no? Boston has so many assets that there is such an array of ways to make it work, be it Hayward, LAC pick, Mem pick, Sac pick, a pair of loosely protected Boston picks, and Rozier. Could be OP, could even add an additional pick. Could be Kyrie, Hayward, and picks for Holiday and Davis. Could be Horford to a third team for rebuilding assets on top of Brown and picks, and so on. Including Tatum can't possibly be an end all be all because Boston's stock pile of trade chips is borderline asinine.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Not a bad offer. Actually a hell of an offer. Nobody's gonna give you more. To bad he's not available.

That would be a great haul if the pelicans wanted to trade Davis but fact is they won’t as long they are sniffing success. As a Celtics fan giving up that much for anybody makes me a little edgy. Cs are playing game 7 of ECF and add Kyrie Hayward and Theis back next year. I hope they see how that works out before any drastic changes.

I agree with him I'd hold out for Tatum. The other assets are dimes or quarters. Need at least one 50 cent piece.

To Pelicans: Tatum + Brown + Rozier + Kings 1st + Celtics 2018 & '20 1st + Gasol (buyout or retire)

To Spurs: Horford + Holiday + Yabs + Memphis 1st + Clippers 1st

To Celtics: Davis + Kawhi + Mills + Filler from Pelicans

If Ainge is cashing in on all his assets -- while Tatum, Brown, Horford, Rozier trade values are all time high -- this is the trade to get it done.

=No way Irving and Kawhi can walk from Davis and Hayward -- they re-sign 2020 offseason.
=Big money 2020 and forward for best big 4 in NBA history, although not too different than staying the course. Kawhi gets maxed 1 season before Brown new max contract and Davis 1 season before Tatum new max contract -- although Davis/Kawhi max contracts are more, Celtics don't have Horford on books in this scenario.

C: Davis | Baynes | Vet
F: Morris | Davis | Theis
F: Kawhi | Hayward
G: Hayward | Smart back? | Vet
G: Irving | Mills
Roster needs ring chasers and exception level players to fill out bench.

A respectable offer but the Pelicans don't trade Davis for a variety of reasons.
New Orleans love.

Its not narrow-minded. Davis is a top-5 player in this league, bonafide franchise guy.
It starts with Tatum and develops from there.
Even with that, Pels likely say no. Why trade Davis now anyways? They should be trying to build around him.

Tatum, Brown & Rozier's value are all time high? In relation to the past or future? These kids can only increase their trade value next season by continuing their improvements from this year. Rozier maybe just because you have to pay him next year, but Tatum & Brown will almost certainly be worth more 1 year from now.

With talent that compliments him and/or an all-star wing. Not an easy task but they need to somehow unload Solomon Hill's contract or rearrange the chairs a bit by dealing him, with expirings, for another ugly contract that might fit better next to AD.

Jaylen Brown is a measly asset? He was the third pick averaging 18/5 on 48/41 shooting in the playoffs in his second season. Does having Tatum on the same team diminish his value or something? How many teams offering up a trade package for Davis are starting with a better prospect than Brown?

Kyrie has no value to the Pelicans hes a flight risk. Considering Hayward's contract and injury im surprised that we're supposed to consider his trade value much of a positive. Jaylen Brown is a very good spot up shooter with great athleticism, but hes a borderline max contract player 2 years down the line, like a young Eric Gordon, he can be a centerpiece of a deal with Davis asking out but not when he is happy and is up for extension that no one has turned down yet in a year. Frankly Id ratger have Tatum than Brown and the Kings pick and so would Boston fans. A bird is the hand is worth 2 in the bush and right now Anthony Davis is the biggest bird.

Whats narrow minded is assuming Boston has the best offer without Tatum, Phx woukd gladly move the #1 pick plus. Minny would offer KAT. Im sure the Lakers would offer just about everything as long as we ate Deng too. Bulls would probably consider Lauri, 7, and Dunn for a Davis homecomming. But what Id take over all of that is the chance Anthony Davis signs a supermax with the Pelicans, even if that chance is 50%
