Dang. Tough to fill that hole for Philly now. Does help the roster crunch a bit though and they will still have the room exception?

He has the tools to be a star in Europe. Was underappreciated here. I get it.

Who's left on the market, though, for stretch guys? My quick look says only really Babbitt (if you can play him at 4), Joe Johnson. Maybe you take a flier on Vonleh becoming something, or hope Beasley shoots well from outside and only pass him the ball when you want him to shoot?

My guess is they look to trade.

Well, that’s ******* stupid. It hasn’t been a good offseason for Philly so far.

If they're not willing to take on multiple years of salary, their trade options aren't that great either (Jason Smith?). They might just decide to play Wilson Chandler at PF.

I don't agree. No home runs but they didn't ruin cap space, brought JJ back, and picked up assets in the Zhaire trade, whom I believe has a very high ceiling. Add in Wilson Chandler as nice depth on the cheap.

I feel like the Kawhi situation hindered you guys from doing a lot potential deals.

He’s still not traded so I guess there’s still some hope.
PM me if you can help a brotha finally get an AVI.

I listened to an interview yesterday with Wolves owner Glen Taylor. The Wolves wanted Bjelica back, but Bjelica and his agent wanted more than a one year deal. They haggled well into free agency when more one-year deals became the market, but when Thibs could sign Tolliver for one year (good fit, but a bit too expensive imho), he snapped him up and let Bjelica go. I was surprised he accepted only one guaranteed year from PHI, who might use him better, but he loved the Twin Cities for his family.

I hate seeing any player or team back out on a commitment, but I think it was over a second year.

They should find a way to provide more shooters for Simmons. Joe Johnson seems like a nice fit.

Belinelli and Ilyasova will surely be missed.

As much as I don't want to lose Marvin, we do need to offload somebody for an expiring. I don't mind this.

Philly's been trying to keep next year's books pretty clean though

No more “keep the bar low for Jerry’s kid” rules in effect in Philly

Philly beat reporter Keith Pompey is tweeting that Bjelica had visa problems and decided to not bother with it anymore for this year. :dontknow:

I'd just call up Phoenix and see if they'd do a Bayless-Dudley swap for a 2nd or something.

Then I'd see if Alex Len would take the room exception. Of course that just makes the roster glut worse.

That sucks for Philly. They probably are better off holding the room MLE for buyouts

I was thinking of Dudley.

Muscala would be a good one too.

Well, that's one more agent I would never deal with again.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
