Contest: Find the Pels a serviceable SF/Wing
The winner of the contest wins absolutely nothing.
The Pels need someone with a pulse to replace Solo Hill, Darius Miller and Wes Johnson. It does NOT need to be a very good SF. It does not need to be Middleton or players on that level. Just serviceable.
Parameters: You cannot trade Davis, Holiday, Mirotic, Randle, Payton, Moore (Payton and Moore are more flexible but the return would need to be really good considering the roster implications); everyone else is up for grabs.
You can trade 1st and 2nd round pick(s) but obviously the return would need to reflect that. Fire away.
The preference would be to not take on significant long term salary that would jeopardize re-signing Randle, for instance. But again, if someone like Solo is going out that is flexible, relatively speaking.
Again, this is for a SERVICEABLE player, it does not need to be a homerun.
What you got?

Carroll? A first plus filler would get him I think. Doubt NO wants to do that but otherwise there is no incentive for the nets. SF is at a premium right now.

Yeah, this screams Temple, Shump, or Carroll for Hill and a 1st.

Solomon Hill and Wes Johnson for Evan Turner?
PDX saves a bit as Wes expires this summer and runs Solomon as their 3rd string backup PF. NO gets a servicable SF.

I'm starting to get a weird feeling they give up nothing and get Butler. We'll all be confused and they'll be really good.

Carroll just had some surgical procedure on his ankle.
I don't know how many games that he will miss.

Johnson/Miller/well-protected 1st for Terrence Ross.
He isn't great but he's serviceable, and while he is expiring, as SmokeyPaw says even serviceable SFs are a hot commodity. It's going to be tough finding someone without giving up a pick or taking on salary.

You forgot to include a first so the Pelicans can trade Turner before the deadline when it turns out he's still Evan Turner.

Re: Contest: Find the Pels a serviceable SF/Wing
I feel like Doug McDermott would be a near perfect fit for the Pelicans, but the Pacers just signed him and I doubt they want to trade him. Not sure the Pels have anything the Pacers would want of equal value either.
Sorry, I know I contributed nothing of importance to this thread, I was just thinking of how perfect McDermott would be for ya'll. Same with Bojan, but Pacers aren't trading him.

I'd just sign Corey Brewer before giving up a pick for any of the guys mentioned here.

Any chance Bogdan Bogdonvic from Sacramento can play SF? I know they like him, but he seems like a wing that “maybe” could be attainable and would be an intriguing fit.

Thibs keeps the TimberBulls theme going and trades him for Mirotic, Moore, and a pick?

That’s one I have proposed to the board before, but I honestly don’t think the Pels would do it right now. That’s two of our starters and our best outside shooters.

The Pelicans don't have anywhere close to the assets to get him.

Marcus Morris seems a nice fit. Pels look legit
I don’t think the Cs would trade him for lesser pieces though. He fits nicely with the Cs right now.

Tony Snell! He occasionally fills up 3 count 'em 3 categories in the box score and you can have him for the low, low price of one Hurricane from Pat O'Brien's.

Well that’s a little dramatic
