James Takes His Talents to Southbeach

Continuing with the theme of Lakers trading James. Assumption of this thread is not only do Riley and James not have bad blood between them — James would be confident Riley would be an aggressive GM to build a championship roster around James back in Miami.

NOP Trade: Davis
NOP Receive: Bam + Ingram + Kuzma + R. Anderson + 2019 Heat 1st + 2019 Lakers 1st + 2021 Lakers 1st

Lakers Trade: James + Kuzma + Ingram + 2019 & 2021 1sts
Lakers Receive: Davis + Olynyk

Heat Trade: Bam + Olynyk + R. Anderson + 2019 1st
Heat Receive: James

NOP Why: great trade package for Davis.

Lakers Why: turn James into Davis. They would still have max+ cap space. Crazy enough, trade Ball + Olynyk for pure cap space, and they can get 2x 30% max slots.

Heat Why: Pat tries the James thing again — James tries the Miami thing again. James would be surrounded by D and young/willing defenders. Pat would also be willing to clear cap space for 2020 (or 2021) offseason and be able to recruit a max player.

C: Whiteside (behind James at rim)
F: James
F: Winslow
G: J Rich
G: Dragic (non ball-in-hand PG)

Bench would need some work, but on paper that is one of the best Eastern teams (more so if Kawhi, Butler, Irving, Middleton, go West.

I really need to start paying more attention to OP user names before clicking threads.

Heat don't have the pieces to get LeBron. Bam, JRich, filler and the picks they do own isn't enough.

I really don’t think James carries that much value.

His age, playing style (takes unique roster built around him), huge contract, and so very few destinations that would actually offer any value for him. James can’t be traded just anywhere — and more so he won’t want to be traded to a depleted team once he arrives.

James doesn’t warrant this anymore.

Setting aside the optics or willingness, of the Lakers to trade LBJ for that package, what makes anyone think that AD would re-sign in L.A. if LBJ was gone? You take Ingram, Kuzma and LBJ of the Lakers roster and they're far worse than the current Pelicans.

Also, unless the Heat hit on that lottery pick, none of these pieces are moving the needle for the Pelicans.

James, Kuzma, Ingram and two first for Davis ? Just so Davis could walk in the offseason.

LeBron has more value than this. Like significantly more.
