Ya this has been thrown around a lot. I love it for both sides since I'm not convince Dame/CJ can get past the 2nd round together.

Definitely the ideal trade for the 76ers.

I think Portland would be trying to find out if they could add value to CJ to pair Dame with Simmons. But in terms of this deal I'd have Philly needing to add significant value here. Dame is a much better player.

Damian is our heart and soul. I like Simmons basketball talent (though he cannot hold a candle to Dame as a team leader) and have discussed this multiple times just for fun, but in reality Damian is our heart and soul and is not going anywhere. I don't, for example, think Simmons would be anywhere as committed to the city as Damian nor do I think he would make us an overall better team.

If your #1 and #2 guys don't fit (and they don't think that is true), you don't trade your #1 guy to accommodate your #2. If Portland truly think's CJ and Dame can no long co-exist then CJ is traded first every time.

Yeah, I can't see any scenario where Simmons is worth Lillard. He's the face of their franchise and everything is built around him. They'd really need to remake their roster in order to make things work with Simmons.

I agree Lillard and Simmons could be incredible together.

Simmons with a triple double, and than 31 pts, 3 blks are examples of all star value. His versatility makes him as valuable as Lillard.

Sixers would be wrong to trade him, especially adding significant extra value makes it even worse.

It doesn't. Lillard is a better player with a much better attitude.

Simmons is young, far younger - and fits the 76ers timeline. McCollum, Collins, and two firsts may be enough

I don't think either team would be on board

Assuming Simmons could even shoot three in the low 30s, a Dame/Simmons screen action could be really special. It could be pretty similar to what they are doing in GS.

I don't think Sixers management would pull the trigger on a Simmons/Lillard swap if it were on the table, though they'd probably have to think long and hard about it. A deal with CJ as the centerpiece likely doesn't even warrant a conversation.

Sixers aren’t trading a 22yo with Simmons’ potential & Dame is Portland’s franchise player so I doubt a phone call even gets made

if the Blazers were blowing their team up, Simmons would be a great get. but why would the Blazers blow up their current roster?
