Who's doing the recruiting? Ian Mahinmi or the GM we don't have yet? Maybe its Scott Brooks!

1. Keep Beal unless a really good offer comes along. Kuz or Ingram and a pick doesn't cut it.

2. Trade the 9 to Boston for the 14 & 20.

3. Based on the tankathon mock, Draft Goga Bitadze at #14 & Tyler Herro at #20.

4. Sign Rudy Gay to the MLE & Taj Gibson for the BAE.

5. Resign Tomas Satoransky, Thomas Bryant & Jeff Green.

6. Use trade exceptions to absorb Ersan Illyasova & Denzel Valentine. Send the Bulls a future 2nd for Valentine.

Roster

G Tomas Satoransky ... Vet minimum ... John Wall
G Bradley Beal ... Tyler Herro ... Jordan McRae
F Rudy Gay ... Troy Brown Jr ... Denzel Valentine
F Taj Gibson ... Ersan Ilyasova ... Jeff Green
C Thomas Bryant ... Goga Bitadze ... Ian Mahinmi

Wall should be back after the all-star break.

Wiz have enough to make the playoffs in East while retooling around Beal & Wall with 4 young guys in their rotation.

I really doubt you're getting Gay for the MLE. The Spurs would put that much on the table ( I expect their first offer to him to be > MLE) and as far as I know, he likes it there.

You won't like it, but this is what I would do...

Trade 1

Washington: #3, Robinson
Knicks: Beal

Trade 2

Washington: Wiggins, Dieng, #11, 2021 FRP
Minnesota: Mahinmi, Howard

- draft Barrett, Reddish and Doumbouya with #3, #9 and #11
- resign Sato, Bryant, Portis
- use the trade exceptions to add more picks

Satoransky.......Wall
Barrett...........Brown
Wiggins...........Reddish
Portis.............Doumbouya
Robinson.........Bryant............Dieng

Replace "Beal" for "Wall" and that trade makes some sense for Wash

So you wants #3, Robinson and $$$$$$ in cap space for Wall, huh?

Or do you not like the offer, so you’re making an even worse offer?

Was trades Beal:
Was Receives: Warren, 4, 6, Hart

Gets a good haul for Beal and can start over with some good youth.

Phoenix trades: Warren, # 6
Phoenix Receives: Ball

Not sure if it is too much from PHX but it gets them PG that will fit very well in the system and with Booker.

LA Trades: Ball, Hart, # 4
LA Receives: Beal

Lakers can either keep Beal or flip him to NO with Ingram for AD.

For the Wiz they Draft Hunter, White and Doumbouya at 4, 6, and 9. They then resign Sato and Bryant.
There team next year would look like this:

Sato/White/Brown
White/Hart/McRae
Hunter/Brown
Warren/Doumbouya/Hunter
Howard/Bryant/Mahinmi

IR Wall
good basketball.. simple living.

Wall will be on their books for the next years, so they have to work with $70M cap... Look to take on some mid-term salary for picks.

Nic Batum+CHA 1st for Mahinmi and Howard should be considered

The Wizards will be bad for at least two years so they have to acquire some assets while keeping on Beal (except the loser of the AD sweepstakes will overpay for him).

They have to hold their nerve with Beal. Try to get him to extend before thinking about trading him. Moving him for the Lakers poo poo platter would be an awful decision.

Yea just completely insulting of an offer. The #3 and Robinson is not a bad offer at all for Beal. To suggest Wall is worth anywhere near that is just ridiculous.

I not buying the narrative that Washington absolutely has to trade Beal this offseason to kickstart a rebuild.

Once this coming free agency period is over, it's going to be quite some time before young to youngish top end level stars will become available.

Looking at the 2020, 2021 free agents, who's even close to being on Beal's level factoring age and production?

Whom do you see in the current crop of players 26 and under that's going to leapfrog him?

Then consider how unlikely it is for young star players to become available int trades or to hit the free agency market and it's pretty clear that for Washington to maximize their return waiting another year isn't the worst thing that could happen.

After the coming season Washington could conceivably have a max salary slot available to go with Beal, Wall, Brown, this years lottery selection and possibly a 2020 lottery pick.

People love to act as if it's a foregone conclusion that Wall will be useless when he returns from injury, but that's a better base to build from than perhaps 70% of the other teams around the league.

Almost certainly better than anything the Hornets will be able to put together for the 2020/21 season.
