How many 1sts would it take?

How many 1sts (and with what protection) would it take for Washington to consider (not necessarily do it but to think about it) a straight up Beal for Wiggins swap? Assume that Minnesota can deal a non-core player for mediocre 1sts to add to their own if you wish.

I would include Culver for Troy Brown + 2 1sts from Minny.

Without Culver, I don't think the gap can be bridged.

You can only alternate picks and swaps for seven years. I don't think that’s enough.

It would certainly involve Culver + Wiggins + 1sts.

Minnesota would have to Lakers/Nets themselves and give up all of their future picks/swap rights. I don't think the ends would justify the means for them.

As I say about every six months, I am not a fans starting threads of the “tell me how pretty I am” threads. I think we glamorize a few players here because they are mentioned in trade so often. In the last Trade Value thread at the end of the year, Beal came in #23, between DeAndre Ayton and Pascal Siakim. With his improvement since John Wall went down, his value went up, but it’s hard to see him jump too many slots with the people ahead of him.
https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1780100Wiggins was #3 on the bad contract list, but I think he’s clearly in a tier for the 2 worst deals. Again, he Also gets exaggerate by the constant discussion about him, and “how bad is bad” talk, with posters topping each other.
The bottom line here is that this is a waste of time. Beal isn’t being traded by Washington. He is the sole reason anyone would want to buy tickets next season, and he’s surely their most heavily marketed player right now. And MIN isn’t going to pay the fortune it would take to turn Wiggins into Beal. Beal does not make them a true title contender over the next two years (Beal’s delta length), because they are mediocre at too many starter and back up positions. Their free agency was spent picking up cheap, younger players, trying to focus on upside.
MIN is not trading KAT for Beal, or multiple unprotected 1sts. WAS is not trading Beal away unless they were blown away by an offer that was too good to refuse. There is no need to start a “How many 1st would it take to turn John Wall into KAT?” thread either. Neither is not the type of deal either team would be able to agree upon.

I definately do think the ends would justify the means if you get Beal to extend. I get that there is some risk involved, but the first few pick swaps are irrelevant. Washington will have their cap allocated to Wall and Wiggins and will definately be worse. And if you get Beal to extend, you have a core of KAT and Beal that should make the playoffs every year barring injury. And even if they miss it, it's only going to be by a hair. So it most likely ends up being ~4 late FRPs for Beal and you get to dump Wiggins.

I don't think it's possible. Beal having positive value, with no players coming back as 2 or 3 #1's protected for top 10.
Wiggins is negative I'd need at least 2 #1's for taking him into cap space.
Who has Minnesota got that they could trade? Not KAT or Culver. Maybe Covington, but Dieng is negative and Teague is neutral at best.
I don't see it.

This depends on the quality of the 1sts, and on how Washington views Wiggins. I think many NBA teams value Wiggins higher then the RealGM consensus. Washington would have to be one of them to have a chance.
The other issue is the quality of the 1sts. Upgrading Wiggins to Beal, to go with Towns, Covington and some decent depth should make Minny a playoff team (health permitting). So those future Minny 1sts aren't that valuable.
If Washington is relatively high on Wiggins then a Wiggins + Culver + several unprotected future 1sts might work. If not then it just won't (unless you find a 3rd team that is higher on Wiggins).
