Is this into a TPE or space? Great move for Denver, Grant is exactly what they need next to Jokic.

For OKC, it's going to be a very late pick, but I think they aren't far from getting out of the tax now, like 6m?

I guess it's a solid move for both sides. OKC is clearly in rebuild mode and loading up on future picks.
Not sure where the fit is for Denver, but he's a good player on a market rate or better contract.

But back to OKC, Grant and Gallo actually would have made a nice combo at the 3-4 if they kept Westbrook. But I guess there just isn't enough left on the roster to make paying the repeater tax worth it.

Amazing move for Denver. Value is right at what we were projecting too. OKC should also be happy - clear win-win.

My only question: do the Nuggets envision Grant as their starting 3? Could we see Millsap in a 6thman, backup center role?

I think it will be matchup specific. Against the LA teams I think Grant will start at the 3 and defend one of the star wings. But against other teams he might come off the bench or play the 4.

Like it for both, and seems to me to be a sign OKC is fully blowing it up, let's see if anybody else moves.

I think so too, but in another sense maybe not.

Woj's tweet paints this as Gallo is starting at the 4 so Grant was expendable. Seems like a line someone gave him. But could also be true with Muscala at backup 4.

And if they can get under the tax and still field Russ/SGA/?/Gallo/Adams maybe they keep that together for a little while? I'm not sure.

Yeah I'm still holding out hope for a monster offer going to Washington or some other direction.

I understand if Russ wants to leave, but it seems very dumb to trade him without getting much value back and also weird for him to bolt for a team without much more to offer than the Thunder.

Very nice pickup for Nuggets, good player and even better fit at the position of need.

Really deep and versatile team, but still may lack one top guy to go all the way to League Finals imo.

Like this move for both. Hard to tell if OKC is really blowing it up though. The goal may just be getting below the tax and saving money at this point, not a full teardown. Grant was probably expendable and they'd likely be priced out next summer if/when he declines his PO.

I love this for Denver. Grant should be a very nice fit for them. I also like the further asset accrual by OKC.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

Been high on this fit for a while now. Should slide into the starting 4 spot after next year (if he stays). Probably come off the bench and play 3/4 this year.

The sentiment in the auction thread was more mixed in regard to his value.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I like it a lot. At this rate OKC going to end up with like 20 1sts in 5 years though

How much more do they need to move to dip the tax?
