Depending on the view of whether or not fultz will play or is near ready, I’d do it. Definitely one of the more fair trades.

count this guy as someone who doesnt want to risk it on Westbrook, who turns 31 and is owed 4 years over $41+mil/year. He hasnt worked on his game, so it will not age well. And has bad bbiq, he will shoot his team out of a game without feeling bad about it at all. he wants his stats and wants to be the man, winning comes in 3rd on that list. Hence why 2 stars have now said they wanted to play with someone else, that they cant win with him

Including Fultz in any trade is unfair....he's either a total bust or a future All-Star. If the Magic are willing to move him, they know something and buyers should beware (or see him as cap space). I think it would be hard to trade for him if you're OKC (or anyone). Orl is likely his last stop -until he shows something...I don't think there's enough here for OKC, but I do think ORL can put together the best package of young, cost-controlled prospect(s) and expiring players that can actually play (DJ, Evan), and pick(s)...I hope they are in the mix. I think the fit is great too...a young, loooong, defensive-minded team lacking an offensive finisher and spiritual leader. ORL could make a strong offer and still not dismantle their young upcoming nucleus.

I think a deal requires Bamba to get it done which I wouldn’t do.

For the money coming back to Orlando and to provide solid enough tangible asset back to OKC, a deal is going to have to include Gordon with Fournier and Augustine or Fultz.

Westbrook/Patterson/Diallo for Augustine/Gordon/Fournier/1sts.

Alexander/Augustine/Schroder
Fournier/Fergusson/FA?
Gallinari/Roberson/Bazley
Gordon/Muscala/Nader
Adams/Noel/FA?

Westbrook/Fultz/MCW
Ross/Frazier/Diallo
Isaac/Iwundu/Okeke
Aminu/Patterson/FA?
Vucevic/Bamba/FA?

In regards to the bold - or they got an opportunity to acquire Russell Westbrook and decided that it was worth moving Fultz to do so.

I'd be surprised if Presti deals with Orlando and doesn't ask for Issac. That's his type.

The value to them is getting off the money. Let's not act like OKC wants to keep Russ. Salary dump deal does not include any of Orlando's young pieces. OKC should be including picks to come off the money, but that is waived because of his cache. However, if it ends up being a salary dump deal then I doubt Orlando is the partner because they are working with him and seem to be letting him make the choice. He won't pick Orlando over Miami lol.

This is one of the better not exaggerated proposals I’ve seen, good job OP.

I like how some posters say Orlando would have to include one of Isaac, Bamba or Gordon but Miami offers are basically Winslow who at the beginning of last season was considered a negative contract and fillers that carry no value (might have to pay to get rid of).

This trade happens at deadline when Fultz has *proven to be healthy (but at that point why deal him) or medical records are shared to show Fultz will be ready by the beginning of the season. No one is talking him on without assurance.

I would turn the Lakers SRP into another protected FRP and call it a day.

Evan Fournier
Markelle Fultz
DJ Augustine
Wesley Iwundu
‘20 FRP (top 10 protected)
‘22 FRP (top 20 protected then turns into x2 SRP’s)

This trade would never happen though as we would have to gut our team/depth to bring in a ball dominant guard.

Our managements philosophy from day one has been getting players that want to play here and building a winning culture, unless Westbrook himself blatantly states he wants to come to Orlando I see no world where we trade for him. No shortcuts.

If the Magic were interested in trading for Westbrook, I don't see why they would've cut and stretched Mozgov. He would've been a good expiring filler piece. Before you get to Westbrook's value, you have to establish that a specific team is interested in trading for him.

Any suggested trade for Westbrook is probably going to be turned down by OKC because they will think Westbrook has more value than that. But this trade is probably real close in value. OKC picks up some decent young talent but Fultz is a gamble, so ...

How much Orlando is willing to give is going to be a real problem also. No doubt OKC wants the same young potential stars that Orlando is going to want to keep.

You kind of need DJ with Orlando next to Westbrook with his shooting to give Westbrook more room to operate

As much as I dislike Westbrook it’s either Isaacs or Gordon. Especially Issacs because he’s Presti type.

Isaac is WeltHam's type, and Westbrook is not, so we dont have to worry about this

Can the Heat beat this offer? A lot depends on how Fultz plays out, but if he does then it's highway robbery for OKC once again.

I like it enough from the Magic's POV. Westbrook will finally bring a legit star back to ORL. Whole bunch of haters out there on him, but he plays hard and Magic have a coach that isn't a pushover. Could even see him improving Westbrook's game. Westbrook's scoring load won't be so burdensome. ...and he'll also be surrounded by floor spacers and guys who play defense as hard as he does.

If Fultz is looking good behind closed doors, then I don't do this trade as a Magic fan. I only do it if there is uncertainty.

Fournier alone requires a first to unload that negative deal, so the rest is just meh for Westbrook, dont see it

Not sure what kind of value is out there to be had for Westbrook.

Can't think of many teams that would want him and of those I can't think of any who would be willing to pay much for him.

MIA is about it and even then it's not like OKC can expect much more than filler, Winslow, and some protections being removed.

Frankly if I am OKC, I don't care as much about the protections because there is potential that it will make the picks I already have a bit worse than they are. Maybe the 2023 one (and any after that) have some upside but I don't think that's great value either.
