Warriors-Thunder-Timberwolves Winter Deal

Post#1 » by youngcrev » Sat Jul 13, 2019 1:12 pm

Warriors In: Robert Covington and Steven Adams
Warriors Out: D'Angelo Russell and WCS

- The Warriors go for more of that OG Warriors look, putting a stacked defensive lineup around the elite scoring of Steph and Klay.

Timberwolve In: D'Angelo Russell and WCS
Timberwolves Out: Robert Covington, Jeff Teague and a protected 1st round pick

- The T'Wolves land their target, pairing Russ with Towns. They also pick up Towns college teammate for some added fun.

Thunder In: Jeff Teauge and MIN protected 1st round pick
Thunder Out: Steven Adams

- The Thunder continue to collect ALL THE PICKS and shave close to 7M off their payroll this year in the process.

Pretty sure this doesn't work for Warriors. Think this puts them well above the hard cap

The pick should be removed, in my opinion. Dumping Steven Adams for an expiring is a phenomenal deal for Oklahoma City without picks going their way.

Yea the first should be removed. Covington plus a 1st from the wolves is excessive for russel given the contracts, and OKC off loading Adams shouldnt bring back a 1st. Adams is decent but really overpaid.

OKC likes Adams and he is a good role in layer for the Thunder. I think he stays in OKC.

Yes, especially since by mid-winter, there is only half a season remaining on Teague.

I wouldn't do the deal, even without the pick though. I like Covington much better than Russell, and I suspect by mid-winter, Russell starting a max deal is going to look worse than even a neutral contract.

I like the Russell to Minnesota for Covington plus something idea, but I don't think that something should be Adams. The Warriors don't need a center other than Looney because Draymond can play there. The Warriors need forwards.

The trade that I would do for GS next year will be around Russell for Wiggins and TPE for Covington Okoge.

Hard pass from Ws. We don’t need our Cs to do much, and Adams comes at an exorbitant salary for what we need.
