Good for Philly. Hes not worth it now, but hopefully he takes that next step. I worried he would force his way to LA, but this is a nice sign.

Doesn't this make him poison pill for the rest of the season? Or is that only in the old CBA.

Ultimately, the Sixers need to trade Simmons. At least this ensures that they'll get value for him. Having him locked up for 6 years is going to be reassuring for any team that trades for him.
