He's been cut by 3 teams after a tryout season. In each case, the stats have been decent to good. Anybody have an idea as to why?

Unreliable 3 pt shot and it seems hard to see who exactly he guards defensively. He can rack up blocks, but the defense is still a worry overall. More of a microwave offense inside the arc off the bench, I guess, but most teams kind of have someone in that role, or someone they drafted and have invested heavily in already?

Some guys just fall into this category: frequently good enough to bring in, never good enough to keep. I call it "Jeff Withey syndrome".
Hopefully he sticks *somewhere*. I wouldn't have minded taking a look in Utah where we have so few legit PFs, but I believe our roster is full now.

I think Wood is the opposite. I think he is good enough to bring in, but comes with more baggage than he is worth. Jr Smith / Melo ? syndrome

I’d like to see the pistons take a flier on him rather than the eventual mid 30 something big they will sign

Re: Christian Wood: Free agent again.
He's more talented than a lot of NBA players but he still hasn't figured out how to be useful. No matter what he's coached to do he's going to come out like he's a superstar facing up for as drive like prime Bosh. Doesn't do the team things, still thinks he just needs minutes and he'll prove he's a star. Spent a lot of time in the g league putting up 30/10 games in losses then he'd wonder on twitter why he wasn't getting NBA games. He doesn't get it is the basic answer.
