Philly sends: Harris
Portland sends: McCollum, Skal (or other filler)

Why for Philly? Makes their lineup less awkward and goes Simmons-CJ-Richardson-Horford-Embiid. (They also get a secondary creator which is nice)
Why for Portland? They commit to Simons/Hood/Baze being able to fill in for CJ and grab an all star caliber floor spacing forward to spread out their positional talent a little more.
Rest in peace Mamba. There'll never be another Kobe.

whats wrong with having Harris for Phi? His 3pt shooting is on par with McCollum and while not known to be a good defender, neither is CJ, if I'm Phi I rather have the sz of Harris over Cj and Cj creates shots for himself, which isn't anything different from Harris

I would rather have CJ.. that Harris contract looks scary. I think Harris looks like a bad contract in a couple of years.

Value is probably fair in a vacuum, I just don't buy that Philly really needs to make their lineup 'less awkward.'

Cj contract is coming up for ext in 2yrs, you dont think he'll ask for the same deal that Harris got?

True.. and will be hard to get him on a discount after Dames supermax... I still wouldn’t want Harris’s contract.

Simmons would have to show that he's capable of playing well against NBA starters on a regular basis for the Blazers to consider this.

Yeah, Anfernee Simons.

move hood or Bazemore to the starting SG spot
Dame
Baze or Hood
Hood
Harris
Nurkic

I'd say thats a better team then a Cj based one, now you dont have to always worry about Sz issue at the SG spot.

I can't be the only one who much prefers CJ McCollum to Tobias Harris, can I?

I don't think CJ is much better than Harris as a basketball player but the contracts make an easy choice for me.

I prefer CJ to Tobias based on his iso skills. At worse, the gulf in talent between them is negligable. So PDX is making a pretty lateral move. Thats not worth shaking the team up this much for.

I think Gallo is a similar talent to Tobias, albeit older/injured/expiring. But the cost is so much lower to acquire him. I much rather would do that.

CJ> Harris. If we take the contracts into account CJ >>>>> Harris.

Mcollom has more value then Harris, Picks need to go to Portland, this is not a bad idea just not fairly balanced, I think both teams could be better after a swap but I don't think Harris is worth the contract he got, I don't really think he is a max player, He is a 20-22 million a year player not a 30 million a year player. Long contract that might be an anchor in years 4 and 5. I get why portland might be enticed with picks but straight up no way.

I'd definitely do this as a Sixers fan. He basically checks the same boxes as Harris does for us, with added playmaking ability, something that's currently a big question mark for the team. Factor in contracts and it's an easy yes.

I actually think taking contracts into account is what narrows the gap. Harris is overpaid - let's stipulate to that. But CJ is going to be overpaid on his next one in two years. The difference to me is that Harris' overpay contract covers his age 27-31 seasons while CJ's will likely cover his age 30-34 seasons.
