Who Would You Rather Have? Doncic or Fox/Bagley

If you were starting a new team from scratch, would you rather start off with:

Luka Doncic (current contract carrying over)

or

De’Aaron Fox (current contract carrying over)
Marvin Bagley (current contract carrying over)

Fox is already an all star caliber player, Bagley is a nice prospect, but Doncic is special. I would comfortably take him. Also, Fox is due for an extension (likely max) earlier than Luka (minor points against the Kings duo).

Future MVP for 2 future All-stars. I'd go with the future MVP because of how hard it is to find that elite level talent.

Why couldn't Luka and Fox play together?

It's becoming increasingly clear that Luka was the best prospect in that draft.

I think it’s too early but I say Luka. The reason I say too early is that Bagley and Fox, more Bagley, are growing into their own and are very raw while Luka, who still has a ton of growth left, is already extremely ready for the pro game. I think Bagley will take at least another year to properly evaluate.

Luka and it is not even close.

Guarantee within next couple of years there will be "another Fox" who will be the new flavor of the month and Bagley is a guy you can find any draft any year.

Luka type players come around once in a blue moon.

It's not a bad ask since its two for one. Fox is a star and has all the intangibles too, Bagley is a workhorse, and Doncic is special, so I dont think its as easy of a pick as some may make it out to be

Both Fox and Bagley have all-star potential, but Luka is a different animal. He has legit MVP/HOF-potential and could finish his career as one of the best ever.

I think I’d take Fox/Bagley, and I love Luka. I think Fox one day can be the best pg in the league. Bagley can be a Bosh in Toronto type of player eventually. I think I’d take that over Luka. I think.

Doncic, no question.

There are very few examples of teams winning a championship with a conventional PG. Championship teams run their offense through a big wing. Doncic fits the prototype.

Would you take peak Deron Williams/Chris Bosh over somone like Durant?

Doncic easily.

Tremendous young player, makes his teammates better.

Fox is quick but just gets his own shot, Bagley unremarkable.

better question is doncic vs trae young/hunter....before I would've easily picked Doncic but seeing Young progression I think the gap is getting closer to an even draw between just young/doncic now, we'll see how hunter turns out.

Technically should be DOncic vs Young/Reddish. Reddish was the pick that Dallas had and forked over in said deal. I think young/hunter would probably get the nod over Luka in many circles

I don't think it matters how good Trae Young gets on offense. As long as he remains a terrible defender, teams are going to exploit him in the playoffs. For that reason, I'd take Luka. Luka isn't a great defender or anything, but at least he has the size, girth and strength to not be a liability. You can't scheme to exploit him like teams will do to Young.
