LAL/OKC/UTA Gallo

LAL IN: Gallinari, Royce O Neal, 1 2nd from Utah?
LAL OUT: Danny Green, Kuzma, Cook
Why: Get their 3rd scorer. He should come off the bench but play about starter minutes. They also replace Danny with Royce.

Jazz In: Danny Green
Jazz Out: Oni, Exum, Royce, 1-2 2nds?
Why: They get a great 3 and d guard/wing, upgrade from Royce and all it costs them it 1-2 2nds. Also get rid of Exum's deal

OKC IN: Kuzma, Oni, Cook, Exum, and 1 2nd from Utah?
OKC Out: Gallinari
Why: They get Kuzma and a 2nd for Gallo instead of nothing. Exum and Cook just have 2 yrs left anyways. Save $$

OKC then cuts a couple guys

Who says no? If its Utah, I bet there are many more suitors for DG

The sequence of events is wrong. They would need to create open roster spots before the trade rather than do the trade and figure out how to get down to 15 players afterward.

The return for OKC feels light.

I'd be a little surprised if a team like Portland hadn't already offered a lotto protected first for Gallo. He wasn't subject to the 12/15 restriction.

Ah ok

Light? What you think Gallo is worth on an expiring? OKC has tons of incoming picks anyways that a guy like Kuzma should be more valued than a random non lotto 1st.

I don't see why Portland should trade for him now

Why should POR do it? He is expiring and Portland isn't going to win this year. The problem with Portland is 2 guards who cant play much defense. Idk if Zach Collins can play the 4 to close out games with Nurkic also in the paint (when/if he is back this yr). And now Gallo is out there too.

Who is guarding the elite forwards or guards?

OKC already has so many draft picks. Kuz has shown promise before, but with injuries and poor fit, he hasn't done as well this season. Why not get a player instead of another pick

Jazz wouldn't trade for Danny Green, imo, and they wouldn't give up Exum, Royce and a pick to do it.

You're telling me Danny and dumping Exum isn't worth Royce and 1-2 SECONDS (not 1st)?

Send Ingles to more of the 3 instead of minutes at the 2, too slow now

Jazz overpay for Danny Green.

Take away the 2nds, then what? LAL sends okc one of its own 2nds

Crazy to think that Royce and a bad contract is worth Danny Green

I think a lotto-protected first is likely his value without long term salary coming back. Maybe no one has offered that because they're waiting to see if he can stay healthy. But, maybe OKC wants more than that. Maybe they want to try to move CP3 first. In any event, he's considered one of the best available expiring contracts out there and he's still playing for OKC.

I'm saying the Jazz wouldn't trade for Danny Green. They're already getting better (or at least more versatile) defense, more rebounds and better 3-pt shooting this year from Royce O'Neale. Royce has been one of the best 3/D wing defenders in the league this year.

Exum has been out of the lineup so long, it's hard to rely on him and hard figure out how to work him back in, but "dumping" him at $9.6M only to take back Danny Green at $14M doesn't help the Jazz. Jazz would decline.

I guess so, LAL will have to find another taker for DG in this scenario then

Another pass from Utah. Royce is an amazing defensive player and is automatic if left open from three. Not spending assets for the marginal upgrade Green might be (especially since O'neale is our starting power forward).

Who are a few pfs you would move Royce and if need be Exum (or some salary filler, if needed)

I wouldn't move Royce unless we were getting back someone who was an unreasonable upgrade, and I don't think the Jazz would, either. He's one of the most versatile defenders in the league.

If the Jazz were moving Royce + Exum + a pick, I think they'd target someone like Aaron Gordon, a solid two-way player and double-digit scorer. Royce is such a value contract this year though, it's hard to move him.

I think Royce has a bigger impact on winning than Gordon does. I guess that's my hot take of the year.

Yes for this year his contract is obviously a steal

But he will get offers this summer no? His QO is like 2M, I could see an offer of around 10-15M a year, depending on years and roughballing it

Your biggest need is bench scoring I believe and a bigger forward for guys like Giannis, Lebron, AD. Maybe even Kawhi, but he isn't as strong or big as those 3.

The issue is Bojan should be the 4 I think.

Aaron Gordon does make sense in that he is athletic and can guard a guy like Kawhi and the others.

Conley, Mitchell, Gordon, Bojan, Gobert

Bench isn't really fixed though unless Gordon comes off bench since Ingles seems to do better starting
