Who Wants Evan Fournier?

With Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic themed threads already out there, let’s complete the Orlando rebuild with an opted in Fournier thread. What is the best return for Fournier?

Are we assuming he opts in? Or is this an S&T?

He's an SG who can shoot and not be a complete liability on defence, so there will be some interest. A lot of teams could use that, but the question as always is how much does he want, and will teams give up assets on top of that.

I think he’d be a great 6th man on the right team. Not sure he’s a strong starter.

The trick might be finding the team with that need and matching salary.

MIN maybe or MEM?

Not really a big enough improvement over Brooks to get involved. Rather keep assets/cap space and see if we can get a better player in 21.

Minny likely feels the same way with Beasley.

There is a Gordon thread because he overlaps too much with Isaac and some (many?) feel that Orlando needs to rebalance the roster the bit.

One of the reasons for the Vucevic thread is because some (many?) feel that Orlando needs to rebalance the roster a bit and allocate less salary to the Center position.

Fournier isn't perfect, but he is more inline with the direction the league is shifting to. So Orlando might be reluctant to trade him for a blah return.

If Orlando is rebuilding I think Utah would be interested but may not have quite the right assets.

Conley + 24 + prospect (Rayjon Tucker, Tony Bradley, etc.) for Fournier + Aminu

Probably a good starting point and would at least give Orlando a fallback and some leverage

He'd be a good fit on the Sixers. Not sure there's a sensible deal with that goal in mind though

Memphis would be interested in JRich if you want to get evolved in a little menage a trois.

Anderson, top 10 2021 protected 1st, pick 40 to land us some JRich.

That doesn't seem close to enough. Maybe if Anderson were swapped for Brooks.

EDIT: My head said lottery protected, this is probably fine.

What do you think our pick is going to be next year? Do you have Memphis as a for sure playoff team even with JRich? I think the pick is likely in the 10-15 range. What teams are offering a likely higher pick for the expiring JRich?

Not saying that Philly should trade him, but this should be in the ballpark of the best offers.

This guy might have some interest:

I will say this again, I would not trade Fournier for anything less than a top 10 pick, even trying to play in a system that forced Fournier to try to be D & 3 player Fournier showed plenty of flashes of being a long term capable scorer, when Karl was coach and allowed Fournier to play his slashing style fournier was one of the best rookies I have seen in years. He literally looked like a young Ginobli, and is still only 21....I think with time to play he is still able to end up being a borderline all star type in a couple of years if he is allowed to play his game....you are welcome to dig this out in a couple of years and use it against me

I do not have them as a guaranteed playoff team with JRich. They are young, and both Golden State and Portland will be healthy again. I also think that New Orleans has a better roster (in the short term, at least), and both Phoenix and Minnesota could also compete for the playoffs (I think Minnesota will be pretty bad, though). The West is going to be brutal next year.

That Utah deal would be sweet for Orl, if they are dealing Vuc and Gordon too

That would really set up a rebuild for the Magic

I would want Fournier plus Bamba for Lavine. Or for Sato and Young.

Bamba + Fournier (via TPE) + #15

FOR

Looney + GSW 2020 FRP (#3)

Magic draft BPA, but ideally a guard next to Fultz.

Don’t hate it for the Warriors, if they believe in Bamba’s upside.

I imagine most players with POs will opt in considering how much money the NBA has last already and is set to lose if COVID continues

Agreed. Wouldn't be my first choice but I wouldn't hate it, especially if we could nab Saddiq Bey or Patrick Williams at 15.

Isn't lumping in Bamba the exact opposite of the thread idea?
