agree with your first statement - would not even consider the trade suggestion (sorry) - might give Barton for that package and some filler but Porter & Murray wouldn't even be considered by most Denver fans and the front office has already said neither is available

Remember this is a thought experiment.

With that in mind, do you honestly think Barton for Rubio + Oubre Jr. + #10 + C. Johnson is what you personally consider fair value (actually to the point of using ‘might’ to qualify your value evaluation)?

Feel like if he was available he would garner a ton of interest from NYK

How about Kevin Love/Darius Garland and the cavs first pick this year (top 5)?
Too much from the cavs side here?

that doesn't help them win now. They have grant and MPJ and possibly millsap to soak up minutes in PF already. Garland is also a massive downgrade from murray.

dont see anything on the knicks that would help them win now. Will need to be a 3 teamer. how much would you be willing to give up though?

Nope, not really and Denver trading one for multiple doesn't make sense since Denver already has too many players. But the meat of the trade is Barton for Oubre. Rubio & Johnson & a pick are unlikely to play in Denver.

Would I rather have Oubre than Barton? For Denver, absolutely. But Malone likes Barton and I doubt Denver does that. Denver tends to fall in love with their own players (too much). Is Oubre better than Barton? Some might say yes, some might say no.

But as you say, this is a "thought experiment" ;-)

You guys have both gone too far. This package is likely worth Murray/Barton in a vacuum. But it just doesn't fit what Denver is trying to do. They would want to improve with a trade, not take a step backwards. Rubio also makes very little sense there.

Murray is interesting. Hes still really young, and maybe he could average more in a different offense not built around Jokic. But is he really worth that contract?

I've just always been surprised by the hype of this guy. Really good player, but what is his elite ability? Aside from being a few years younger, what makes him more valuable than a guy like FVV?

As others have said, he should be used as a salary ballast in a bigger trade. Washington for Beal could make sense with some assets attached to Murray.

Way too much. The day after this trade, where are the Cavs? Their best players are Murray and Sexton. I'm skeptical they could even share a back court together. It's also a bad idea. This is a make or break year for Sexton. They've got to make a potentially franchise altering decision with the young man.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

He is probably worth a high pick and giant expiring (neutral/negative). Would do Murray plus Bol for Porter, number 4, Felicio.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!
