Bulls trade:
Otto Porter Jr
#44

Bulls get:
Giorgi Dieng
Justin Jackson
#31
#40
future Memphis 2nd

Grizzlies trade:
Dieng
#40
future Memphis 2nd

Grizzlies get:
Tim Hardaway Jr

Mavs trade:
Tim Hardaway Jr
Justin Jackson
#31

Mavs get:
Otto Porter Jr
#44

Bulls get the top pick in the 2nd round, move up 4 spots later in the round, get a future 2nd, and save $6-7M for OPJ
Grizzlies give up 2 2nds to turn Dieng into a wing shooter they could use
Dallas moves down in the first and takes a risk on OPJ's health to get the bigger body they need.

Apologize I can't be more specific on the future pick, but RealGM's handy future pick page is down.

Rather add the value/salary needed and cut out the Mavs here and land Porter for Memphis. However I am not against a THJ rental either at this price.

Why are we helping Memphis here? Why not just cut them out or send thj to another team that will pay some value for him and remove 31, chicago obviously has no neeed for dieng or Jackson

That's fair. I assumed with Winslow and Anderson the need might be higher for a SG--especially since JJJ and Clarke would figure to have almost all the PF minutes sown up.

the idea was originally just THJ for OPJ but that felt like wasting THJ who could help a better team and the Grizzlies seemed like a good option with a big expiring they could exchange. Saves the Bulls a bit more money too which always helps.

I dont understand. Just cut Memphis and give thj, 18 and other assets to Bulls for Porter. Why would we want Dieng?

The swap isn't worth 18 so that's not on the table. You don't want Dieng. He's here to get the Bulls more picks and to save the owner more money. Chicago is clearly still in asset gathering mode and this helps with that.

Just depends on how we plan on using Winslow. Can he play SG still 15 minutes a game? if so it could work. This also frees up Clarke to maybe be traded for a long term SG of the future. Simply put I got a healthy Porter as a much better player than THJ and fear that THJ could revert back to his replacement level self away from Doncic and Carlisle.

Pinkyring....If you can get real assets beyond decent 2nds for THJ then by all means take us out of the trade.

The Bulls don't need to shore up their second round to add players they would barely have roster space for. Not at the expense of giving up their starting SF who with other trades could be their backup or starting PF along with his $28.5M cap space. Jackson isn't filling those positions or he wouldn't be the filler in any deal he's named in.

They don't want Dieng, even if he's a $17M expiring contract, they already have Felicio as a $7.5M expiring contract to sit on the bench at center and he doesn't need company. And no there's no point in playing Dieng for the one year if it holds back the development of either Carter or Gafford.

Not interested in Porter on boated contract with injury history. I'd much rather bet on rookies and trade up.
