Simple question since both teams and guys didn't make it past Rd 2 and both considered either a bad contract or PO failure.
Ironically both came from OKC
George Harden duo
Kawhi Westbrook duo

Clippers say no and quickly. Westbrook's contract makes that prohibitive even ignoring Kawhi only signed there once the Clippers traded for George.

Westbrook was the worst starter on the floor in both series he was in and makes north of $40M per. Let me think about this one.

Is this a joke? Yes, Paul George had a couple of really bad games in the Playoffs but he's still far away from Russell Westbrook's level. I don't consider him a bad contract at all. I'm sure the Clippers could easily get some value for him while the Rockets would have to pay to get rid of RW.

He's not really a bad contract considering the length of it but he's maybe the highest paid anti clutch performer in the NBA. Don't give him the ball with the game on the line.

It's 3 years and 131 million dollars. Considering the length? This isn't the era of 7+ year contracts. Being stuck in a deal for 3 years is a long time, and a LOT of money.

George has a player option in 2021-22. So there is now only one year for sure, the final year he may well opt out. You say "3 years" but it's really only 2 because this season is over. "2021-22 is player option.
Signed 4-yr maximum salary contract on July 6, 2018."
https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/LAC.htmlSo if he gets traded he might not exercise that player option since he had wanted to be in LA.

Apologies, COMPLETELY misread, thought it was saying Westbrook, my bad.

No problem the ESPN Trade Machine shows 3 years so it's easy to think it means 3 more years, but you were thinking Westbrook. RW has 3 more years one is a player option and they are in the $40+ million. It's almost as bad as John Wall's deal.
