George to Miami, Wall and Herro to the Clips

Doesn't quite work in the TC (I imagine if Olynyk opts in, it would work, but I don't know the restrictions on him being traded after that). At this point, I want to know if the framework is fair.

LAC trade: George, Beverly, Macgruder
LAC receive: Wall, Herro

The Clippers get an upgrade at the point, and a sharp shooting young guard in Herro.

Heat trade: Iguadala, Herro, [Olynyk]
Heat receive: George

Heat get a second fiddle to go with Butler.

Wizards trade: Wall
Wizards receive: Beverly, Iguadala, Macgruder, Olynyk

The Wizards get shorter, smaller contracts in return for Wall.

isnt george a rental? I imagine heats wont want to give up herro for him if he may bail in a year. Also washington needs to add to LAC for taking on wall's contract, who we can't assume will be a positive player until we see him play.

Framework is off. Wall, coming off an achilles tear and other ailments, is the riskiest contract in the league. The Wiz wont get off that contract that cheaply, and LAC would not consider this.

Yeah just no chance Washington gets off Wall's contracts and gets useful expirings back on top of it. Washington siphons all the value out of this deal at the Clippers expense.

Miami is too smart to sniff this. PG is a fragile fit next to a battle tested Butler (a man who has been directly compared/contrasted to PG throughout his career). Why would they give up what looks like a star in the making with nuts of steel in Herro for him? Especially when Miami already has their powder dry for 2021. If they really want PG they can just wait to see if he'll come on his own.

Yeah, this is an easy pass for Miami. I'm not calling Herro untradeable. He's certainly not. But I don't see Paul George as that guy...

Wondering if instead of Herro if Miami could include Nunn and Robinson instead. Maybe even throw in our 2020 first round pick (20th overall). How far is the value off?

I don't really see either Miami or the Clippers doing this - but if they did they'd cut out Washington. IMO the Clippers would surely prefer Iggy/Olynyk/Beverly over Wall (though they may look to deal Beverly for a PG who's more of a PG).

Star in the making? Herro has looked awesome, I’d really hope he’d drop to Boston, but let’s not overreact here. He had a 12.5 PER in the reg season, he has some development to doin other areas before labeling anything close to that.

I have Herro worth more than 1 season of George. Not close at all for Miami.

Miami passes on this one. I don't like it much for the Clippers either. I suspect the Wall contract will be very hard to move for the Wizards.

can you imagine trading 3495043 picks for a guy, only to trade him for the ghost of John Wall on a $40M contract, and a future JJ Redick, after one season where you only got to Game 7 of the WCSF?

Pat Riley would politely say no if Jerry West made this call to him but in the back of his mind would be thinking "Wtf Jerry..."

I gotta say, I am not a miami fan but the contract situation, among some other reasons make herro for george a no go. Tyler could be a top 5 shooter in the league already as a rookie and has a set of nuts on him. Geroge at this point is what he is, which is very good but someone who does not perform under pressure. You can win titles with non performers.

I agree with the consensus that Wall will be considered too risky for anyone to take on that long term money this summer. It's possible that if Wall proves that he's at least 90% of his former self, he could be moved mid-season; but it's not happening this offseason.

He's fearless. They let him handle in PnR and trust him to make plays/shots down the stretch of big time games. Miami's one of the absolute best in the business at player development. I say we sit on it but I really like his odds.

George is way more valuable than Herro. Add 2 picks.
