just curious ...if the Clippers decide to trade PG what type of return can they expect?

if the report is true, that he'd lilke to be the 3rd guy on a team:

I'd like to see him next to Kyrie and KD on the Nets
i don't know if a package of J. Allen / Levert / Dinwiddie / Prince / Picks is enough and if the Clippers want those players - maybe a 3rd team needs to be involved

Denver would be a nice fit too
they could offer M. Porter Jr., G. Harris + Picks - we might need a 3rd team here, too

Portland could form a deal arround CJM

other possibilities:
GSW, Boston, Philly, Miami

Warriors:

Wiggins
#2 in 2020 Draft
2021 Minny pick

Not enough value.

One of those pick negates Wiggins contract. The other just isn’t enough for PG. You’d need to include more assets and guys who can help the Clips win now. Not prospects.

If your judging by the value the Clippers gave up, your never going to get that. The Clippers traded for a guy coming off one of the best seasons of his career, with 2 years left on his contract, and were willing to overpay because it helped them secure Kwahi.

The base of this trade would be the Clippers flipping the picks for win now pieces. But they wont get a better win now piece than Paul George.

I'd trade pretty much anything that wasn't nailed down to turn Wiggins into PG...Wiggins/Paschall/#2/MIN 21/GSW 22 plus any contracts LAC wants to dump into the TPE.

what about a PG for Beal trade? that’s an interesting one

Clips are def looking to win now — I don’t see them going for a picks heavy package even though they need them

i think its closer than people suggested here... PG is a expiring contract and no guarantee to resign... I think the GSW deal is one of the best deals LAC can get for PG expiring

Not judging at all by what the Clippers gave up.

I don’t.

IMO - adding Wiggins will only secure the fact that Kawhi bails next season. Wiggins isn’t going to contribute much to a winning team and Kawhi can see greener pastures elsewhere.

Plus, I think it’s safe to assume he’d re-sign with the Warriors. It’s not like he’s being traded to a bad team in the middle of nowhere.

This is coming from a non-GSW/LAC fan.

right now you gotta look at the Clippers... is this team as constructed can win a title with Tyrone Lue? idk.... sure you can trade for Beal and other players but man the risk is so high that even if the Team gets to WCF or Finals and lose then I don't see any of them coming back... just think they aint good enough to win it all when the West is much tougher

I don’t think I would trade for Paul George but he is someone I think the Mavs will be interested in when he hit free agency in 2021. That’s if he opts out of $37M for that final season. If the Mavs miss out on Giannis he’s a guy I think the Mavs might be interested in.

Yeah - I think it would have to be a three team deal, with Wiggins and GS picks going to the third team and a more compatible second star (Beal? Simmons? Kemba?) coming back to LAC.

This is all assuming they want to deal PG though, which I doubt very much.

So you think adding Wiggins is going to make them
more competitive? His value is so negative that it takes at least one of those picks to neutralize it and then how do you plan on getting up to PG’s value beyond that?

You’re right, the move is to trade for someone like Beal because the Clippers are already pot committed to Kawhi. If they lose him next year they have none of their own picks to rebuild with and then what.

Adding Wiggins doesn’t solve that. Adding a rookie this year doesn’t solve that. Adding another rookie next year still leaves them in purgatory for the foreseeable future.

I don’t see any deal between LAC and GSW that makes sense. LAC needs win now players (to placate Kawhi) or they need to trade both Kawhi and George before the other one walks for nothing (see: Toronto).

How about a 4 teamer:
Clippers out - PG
Clippers in -Jrue, Allen

NOP out - Jrue and #13
NOP in - #6 and Levert

Nets out - #19, Dinwiddie, Prince, Allen, Levert
Nets in - PG

Hawks out - #6
Hawks in - #13, #19, Dinwiddie and Prince

Interesting.

Didn’t ATL already kick the tires on Prince though?

We also kicked the tires on Dedmon and Teague - they are both back with the Hawks now :)
Hawks are said to be looking to get another late 1st as well, so #19 compensates for taking Prince and we can use him at backup SF and PF.

L.A. isn't going to be able to recoup full value. What they gave up was essentially for both Leonard and PG. They wouldn't have paid all that just for PG and I don't see anyone else doing so either. Add to that the fact that PG hasn't exactly increased his trade value since leaving OKC, and it might be time to temper expectations.
