We'll see what happens. I think Covington is overrated, but I also get that Portland had a need for an SF. Houston is looking for assets to make up for the Westbrook trade. If they aren't going to have their natural picks for a while, then they don't NEED to bottom out.

Man, the arms race out West is getting wild. Phoenix and Portland with major improvements. I suspect this makes Dallas, Utah, Denver, and Minnesota look really hard for improvements.

Solid value salvage for the Rockets. Good get for the Blazers.

Looks like it's not a matter of if, but when and where for Harden.

Does Portland know he plays forward?

Covington's a big upgrade and great fit for Portland. #16 and a future 1st is a bunch though. Another WC team pushing for win-now moves, while Houston appears ready to free-fall.

If Houston is rebuilding, not bad, I have Capela about even with the 16th pick, so if the Blazer pick next year is ~22, rockets did good. Kinda scared they're just ducking the tax and trying to keep everyone

Presti potentially winning another trade he's not even involved in...

As a Blazers fan, I'm ecstatic. I was hoping for Oubre, A. Gordon, or H. Barnes. Didn't think we'd ever have a chance at Covington.

As of right now we have:

Lillard/Simons/McCollum
McCollum/Hood/Trent
Trent/Hood/Little/Herzonja
Covington/Collins/Herzonja
Nurkic/Collins

Still have the MLE and #46. We need to bring in a 3rd center, a wing, and veteran back-up point guard.

They'll complete the trade after the draft, so portland will pick for Houston then trade that guy and next year's first for Covington

Yes. Portland will make the pick at 16 and technically trade the rights.

Portland needed Covington like 2 years ago. This is the type of forward they needed for a while and they finally got him. Not too worried about the picks, there core is pretty set.

Yes, Blazers will draft for the Rockets, and then trade the player taken with the #16 pick + next year's pick. So expect an awkward Zoom interview on draft night where they are asking #16 about playing with Lillard even though the draft pick and everyone else knows he'll be playing next to Kyrie, Terry Rozier, and Zeller in Houston.
