Traded 27 and 38 for 25 and 33. Not too shabby.

Love the player for Minny. I like what they’re doing in this draft.

27 + 38 for 25 + 33. Might not end up meaning much but it feels nice to be on the good side of a shrewd little move for once.

I kinda would rather Knicks took Hampton.

Yeah Knicks should’ve taken Hampton. Quickley to me makes the win getting 25+33 less of a win

Anyone know anything about Bolmaro besides that he can't shoot?

Pre-Draft Analysis
Quickley emerged as one of the top guards in college basketball, winning SEC Player of the Year honors. He averaged 18.4 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in conference play, shooting 48% from 3 and 92% from the free throw line. Quickley was highly regarded entering Kentucky. He was a McDonald's All American and four-time participant at USA Basketball camps, gagnant a gold medaille at the FIBA U17 World Cup and bronze at the U19 World Cup.

After playing point guard early in his career, Quickley largely came off the bench as a freshman behind Ashton Hagans and Tyler Herro, and spent much of his time off the ball as a sophomore as part of a three-guard lineup with Hagans and projected lottery pick Tyrese Maxey.Quickley has good size for a guard at 6-foot-3 with a 6-foot-10 wingspan that helped him emerge as one of the best defenders in the college game. His ability to slow down guards, wings and forwards alike was a key part of the Wildcats' success this season, along with his excellent perimeter shooting. NBA teams will likely want to get a better feel for Quickley's playmaking and shot-creation ability operating on the ball, a role they didn't get to see enough of in his time at Kentucky. - Givony

Post-Draft Analysis
The Knicks traded down to No. 25 to select Immanuel Quickley here.

Few expected Kentucky guards Tyrese Maxey and Immanuel Quickley to be drafted to close together, a strong indication of the premium NBA teams put on perimeter shooting, which happens to be Quickley's biggest strength.

An excellent defender as well as an outstanding teammate, Quickley's IQ and versatility make him a strong candidate to play alongside the ball-dominant RJ Barrett. -- Jonathan Givony

Bomaro is who I wanted for the Jazz at 23, so it stings to see them trade from the players that would have been the consensus picks by the Jazz board two years in a row (we would have never assumed Clarke would have dropped, but lots of people liked him, so I think we would have taken him). Great pickup by Minnesota. Also like Quickley a lot.

I voted Knicks but mostly because they traded up earlier in the day with lower assets and traded down for better picks.

I don’t know anything about Bolmaro tbh but I wonder if he might’ve been there two picks later.

Maybe this price tag confirms that the Knicks were going to select him and the Wolves wanted him badly enough that they were willing to make the move. I dunno.

Ultimately this could be a steal for MN if he works out but right now I feel like the Knicks did really well for themselves.

I voted both. At this level, teams like who they like, and I thought it was fair or both sides based on that reason.

I’d also point out MIN is swamped right now for roster spots, so drafting talent they can keep in Europe helps. Also, there is a lot of connection here Priglioni, Ricky and Barca, Gersson Rosas, so it’s a good organization for Bolmaro to come up in.

Maybe?

This deal was reported as:
NYK out #23
Minn out: #25 and #33

Then the next deal was:
NYK out: #33
LAC out: Det '23 2nd

Apparently that Det '23 2nd is going to Minnesota, so it is a 3 team deal in essence:
NYK out: #23
NYK in: #25 and ?

Minn out: #25 and #33
Minn in: #23 and Det 2nd, Lessort

LAC out: Det 2nd and Lessort
LAC in: #33

But now the combined deal has the Knicks downgrading from #23 to #25 for nothing? Something is missing there, but it looks a much better deal for Minnesota now, as the original was very steep.

Any chance the Wolves / Knicks deal fell thru? Has it been officially reported?

New answer.

Minnesota did the NYK half of their deal with LAC first, as the JJ opt in slowed down the deal. But it was #23 for #25 and #33. Then #33 to LAC from NYK. However since the first deal wasn't official, the #33 to LAC was announced as from Minnesota... who then happened to pass it all on to NYK as if NYK did it.
