Originally planned to be a signing with New York, the Rockets and Knicks arranged an S&T instead.
Rivers gets a 3-year contract, only the first year guaranteed. Knicks add rights to three prospects, Rockets get a different guy's draft rights and a TPE.

Rest in piece Sergio Llull's draft rights

For Knicks fans, Llull was actually a legit prospect, he was drafted in 2009, never wanted to come over, he’s in his 30s now, he’s had a really great career in Spain, there maybe a shot at a Pablo Prigioni type career for him, but most likely he never comes.

I am really struggling to figure out what the point of this is for NY?

Good will I guess. Maybe they have hopes of bringing Llull over one day

Goodwill, and 2 extra player rights to use in future deals in exchange for salary dumps and picks.

Yeah, I watched him play in the London Olympics. He was a pretty good contributor to a pretty great Spanish team - and you could you "Serge and Lull" at them. I'm a bit surprised he never made it over, I feel like he would have been, at worst, a solid rotation player for a playoff team.

They were better off keeping Sanon's rights then taking the rights of a guy that won't come over.

Morey tried for years, offered the MLE multiple times I believe. The man loves Spain, he’s a star, got some good contracts, and it’s Spain, so it’s hard to blame him.

I remember when the Nuggets sold the Lull pick to the Rockets, many of us Nuggets fans were pissed as he looked like he would be one heck of a good player at the time. Meanwhile the GM bragged about how they had set a record for the highest price a 2nd round pick had ever been sold for, which only pissed us off more. I would have liked to see him in the NBA before his bad knee injury, he looked like a very good player.
Overall it makes sense for both teams, a team has to send something on every trade so this may help the Knicks grab a pick or two in the future for basically doing the Rockets a favor.

I don't understand why are those rights (LLull, Dragicevic, Hervelle) being moved? They are all old and neither of them will play in the NBA. What is the angle here?

I thought his inclusion was odd as well he *probably* won't be anything so it doesn't matter, but he was a pick in 2018 and is only 21, so it feel more likely that he plays in the nba than any of those other guys, even if it still isn't very likely
