Ainge making his doubters look like fools.

Powershift!

Celtics got to be the favorites to win it all now. 8-)

A normal and good thing that happens between teams in these situations.

I'm just here to hate on the mismatched parentheses.

I’m really curious who the target is.
Otto Porter?
Harrison Barnes?
LaMarcus Aldridge?
Buddy Hield?
Who else?

Could be someone next offseason even, in a deal that hasn't been considered yet. I.e. Giannis to Miami and Iguodala to Boston for free. I wouldn't assume there is a current target versus just a hope of having a target later.

Boston is hard capped from the Thompson signing so they’re not getting a high salary player this season fwiw.

Can spend 21 at the moment, more if the move on from Semi or J Green. They can still add outgoing salary up to the 28 though so I wouldn’t say they’re def not.

Def in the conversation now after signing the Cavs best player from last year. :)

I'm just here to be a pedant and point out that neither of those are parentheses - they're brackets. (Parentheses are brackets, but not all brackets are parentheses.)

Barnes is the only one of those that remotely interests me. The rest would put us back in the tax.

It's better than nothing. At least it gives us options. I've hated not having any significant expendable salary to work with recently.

Can't really see who we'd use it on at the moment. Biggest need is a wing, but I don't expect any changes before the trade deadline to see if they have enough bench pieces to warrant adding to. Otherwise I think it's just something to carry into next offseason to provide more options.

Is Tatum going to play the 4 long term or is he better suited at the 3? Feels like a 3 to me, but I don't watch a ton of him outside of highlights and the BOS games I happen to catch.

For sure. I was just noting players that seemed available and had salaries that would fit into the TPE.

We will have to see as he continues to fill out. This year I will think 75% of the time. Theis is the closest thing we have to a traditional 4. With Tatum at the 4 it allows Kemba/Smart/Brown and Tatum to be on the court together. Jalen Smith would have been a perfect fit IMO
