Just classic homer tactics.

Living up to your name... Listen most people wont have the best offer, don't take personal offense to offers that aren't enough. If you want productive discussion, ignore the offers you don't like and follow up on the ones you do. No reason to start a fight.

So I'm only allowed to post when I like someone's offer? Any other rules you'd like to set?

I don't take any offense. People are allowed to stick up for their players. We can have an argument about what is fair value or what isn't.

why do you think simmons is worth so much? He averages like 12 pts per game and makes 30 million.

If they want to win now which is what a Harden move would have been about they should do this.

Do you really believe PPG is this only basis for valuing a player. I'm mean you've posted on this website for a decade and that's what you've come away with?

Hayward is a better player right now than simmons. Maybe not in realgm value because people here love youth and hope and all that, but he is objectivly a better more well rounded basketball player right now. He is currently averaging 40% on 5 3s per game, 50% from the floor and 93% from the foul line. He gets you like 5 reb and 4 assists and 1.4 steals. He is a much better fit beside Embiid right now.

Hayward is a better scorer than Simmons and a much better shooter.

Simmons is a better playmaker and light years better on defense and the glass and younger to boot.

Hayward would have a place on any team and Simmons is a more difficult fit but a much greater talent.

You don’t really believe Hayward is better than Simmons or you wouldn’t be proposing GH+ to get him.

Aint no rule, all I said is that is my view on how to produce higher quality discussions.

Maybe Fox +3 frp and 3 pick swaps. For Simmons.

I think at this point, they pivot to Harrison Barnes, Buddy Hield and/or Nemanja Bjelica and keep their core guys.

It is about fit. The 76ers could potentially have a path to be contenders if they have a player that fits better beside Embiid. They can't get there with Simmons because he doesn't shot threes and averages like 60% from the foul line, and maybe doesn't score enough.

That is why they were thinking about the Harden trade. They need somebody who is ready to help them win now. Who can they get besides maybe Hayward that would help them do that? Since Harden has been delt there isn't any big name star on the market. Maybe they like Fox or somebody better. He was mentioned here. Fox has a 52% true shooting percentage. Hayward has a 61% true shooting percentage. That is in the same range as Harden but with better 3pt% and less free throws. You could even make a good arguement that Hayward is a better fit than Harden because he is less of a ball hog and drama queen.

Simmons is better than hayward, but I don't know why yousay he is light years better on the glass. I mean Simmons plays closer to the basket on D and on O. I see Hayward defending deeper than I do simmons. I think Smart is a great rebounder and he gets 3 a game.

Lowry+OG+2 2nds for Simmons+Fillers

Raps are currently the 2nd worst record in the league so those 2nds are like 2 late 1sts

Kings fans would revolt. I doubt McNair would move Fox singularly after maxing him, but I’m biased. Ben has had the better advanced stats to date, to be sure, still games like tonight leave me hopeful on De’aarons potential. Fox/Hali have budding chemistry.

Simmons + Harris for Lowry + Siakam?

Thats a ton of future salary to take on for Toronto. Besides that I don't believe Masa Ujiri has any intention of trading Siakam. He will look to build around him and re-tool or rebuild w Siakam. He is still only 26 so there's time.

Value for Simmons needs to be in ballpark of what Harden got. After all Simmons + Maxey was in the table. Makes one wonder how many (if any) 1st round picks.

I'm going to put a caveat on McCollum. I think it depends on whether the McCollum we're seeing right now is him taking a step forward, or whether he will regress to what he was the past 3 years. Even if McCollum regresses in some of his shooting percentages, maintaining his career 3p% while increasing volume something like 50% and increasing his assist % the way he has is a true all-star player.

If CJ is more of a 26ppg player than a 21-22ppg player on around the same amount of shots due to increased 3pt volume, something like CJ+Trent would make the 76ers SIGNIFIGANTLY better IMO. I totally understand any thoughts of regression and general apprehension though.

That offer is completely fair.

no it is not, gordon is a negative contract, graham and a heavily protected pick does not come close to one of the most elite playmakers in the league. oh he can also play pretty much any position at a really high level. ridiculous offer is putting it nicely

Simmons is 24, and taking on salary is not the worst thing for the only Canadian team that has never signed a bigger free agent in their entire 25 year history. in fact it can be seen as incentive as those guys can not bolt. harris deal hurts but he has at least a 2-3 solid years of producing well I think

Are you really that unable to even have a modicum of objectivity? That offer is closer to the value of Jonathan Simmons than Ben Simmons. Just embarrassing.

why do you think simmons is worth so much? He averages like 12 pts per game and makes 30 million.

okay, so I see your reasoning that hayward scores more and is a better shooter. absolutely agree, gordon has a better shot, nailed that one ... the only one. both guys making 30 million, so that is irrelevant. so lets look at age ben 24 - gordon 30. edge goes to ben on age. now lets look at rebounds, edge to ben, assists .. ben again, what about size and athleticism ...oh again edge to ben. ben is an all NBA defender and hayward ... well .. edge to ben ... lets look at positional versatility ... gordon can play the 2 and 3 fairly effectively ... but so can ben aaannndd he can play the 1 ... and 4 ... aaannddd the even 5 decently enough. once again edge to Ben freakin Simmons ... so I guess my question GoBobs why not keep Gordon?? why offer him plus a 1st and graham for Ben??? I am going to guess because you really do know Ben is so very obviously the far ... far better player. your inability to be objective, rational, or logical is kind of making you look a bit silly.

edit: redundant post I see now after reading through the whole thread. still worth it, hard not to jump on that.
