Kings & Pistons, Wright for Cojo and draft incentive

Post#1 » by blind prophet » Sun Feb 7, 2021 11:46 pm

Kings out Joseph, 2021 second round draft pick from Memphis
The Pistons choice of the 2024 or 2025 second from Portland

Pistons out Wright.

Kings do this to upgrade the backup guard minutes of Cojo, get out of his 2.4 million guarantee next season. The Kings have many seconds so they decide to invest this season and try to make the playoffs.

Detroit does this for draft capital.

I think the Pistons GM and coach like Wright a lot who is playing well. They just traded Rose. Hard to imagine they will trade Wright also. Ellington on the other hand...

I’m ok with moving right but add McGruder to the few so the Pistons don’t take on cap or push toward the luxury. Pistons would have Smith Jr and Jackson still.
